That seafood smelled so good............................
I'm going to the Bite of Seattle Saturday with a few friends if anyone wanted to join us. Plan are to get there around 4pm.
@Kareface - I'm actually planning to go tomorrow (Saturday), too. Not sure when though...but wouldn't be too big of a deal since I live right at Seattle Center. Maybe we'll see you there.
edit: Let me know -- My number is 949.648.4297
I know a few people in this thread have called me, I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to anyone. Summer quarter tends to be a little more hellish, and it's on top of work and volunteering 20hrs a week >.<.
I'm throwing a BBQ on the 20th. We'll likely have people chip in on a couple kegs and we'll have a ton of meat from Bill The Butcher. The BBQ will go from 6pm-drunk'am, we are still debating on the location, might be at my place (north of the UW) or might be at the beach depending on weather. Anyone that attended the Crab Pot get together is welcome to come (maybe others off the forum if someone can vouch for them). If you want to come, please PM me on the forums with your real name, email and a contact number. There are also several vegetarians/vegans that will be there so there will be lots of non-meat foods. Usually the leaf eaters bring a dish of their own to share.
The people that are at the BBQ are usually early 20's to early 20's, giant assholes that you couldn't offend if you tried (and trust me, I've tried) and a couple people that are so nice it makes you question natural selection. Some are in but most are finished with college. There aren't any cliques, everyone is easy to talk to. This is not a great environment for anyone easily offended. Gay & hipster friendly, I believe you're born hipster, because no one would choose to put themselves through that otherwise..
If anyone has any questions feel free to shoot them my way. If we host it at my place remind me to demo the home theater for you.
I'm in! Let me know if there's anything I can do to help you out![]()
Crap! My high school reunion is that dayI wanted to go when you mentioned it last time! Boo
**if for any reason I decide not to go, I am so in!
Sent emails out to everyone that PM'ed me, be sure to read'em. In the email it says 15 have confirmed, but as of now it's closer to 25, lol. This is why I'm trying to coordinate people bringing side dishes and chipping in for a keg or 2. For those of you on the fence, I'd like to mention the meat I pick up is organic, free range & grass fed, hormone/steroids free, un-dyed, GMO free and I use a charcoal chimney to heat the coals instead of using lighter fluid to have the best possible results. I also picked up a huge new grill (over 1000sq inches of grilling surface):

And yes, I plan on thoroughly breaking it in before the BBQ to get all the crap from the factory off the grates before I grill on it.
Woot, grill arrived! I'm going to start the process of seasoning the cast iron today.![]()
Have fun! I'm going to a Mariners game tomorrow, should be interesting (went to the sounders game today, made me zzz... 0-0)
BLASPHEMY! You just didn't go with the right people![]()
Any sport that allows the game to end at a tie, without any kind of effort to let people score easier, or do sudden death etc, is dumb. the 0-0 just topped it off D:
The championship game on Tuesday will go to sudden death PK's if it is a tie at the end. MLS is just differentsorry you didn't have fun.
I had funJust wasn't as awesome as I had hoped.
I'm not a beer drinker so I'll ask those that might be more experienced on the subject. What keg should I get? Something nice but not super expensive.
Also, for those of you coming, I figure I can setup sides here instead of in the email. Sounds like we'll have people bringing potato salad, spicy tofu, ribs, fruit salad, home made soft pretzels, "dessert" (idk what), vegetarian pizzas, chips and dip and roasted potatoes. Still have plenty of room for desserts, sides and drinks, so just post here or PM me what you're thinking of bringing. Last BBQ I had like 5 people bring salads so I'm trying to organize it a little better this time, lol.
Damn.. I wish I could go but I have training to go to.. I hope I can catch your BBQ another time!
@Nate - I think I'll bring some dessert or fruit or dessert fruit...or dessert.
Anyway... Anyone going to Hempfest? THIS WEEKEND! :D
@Wei-Lin - Awesome! Just a heads up, someone is bringing watermelons
So the suggestion of manny's or roger's has been made for the beer. Anyone here tried either? Just by their description which would be better for the BBQ?
