Lol I've actually been rewatching all the RE movies on BRD since FFXI has been down. TBH they're not 100% terrible....just not completely great either. I think what draws me to them is because I like the storyline of the games so much and it's cool to see another telling of it all (sort of)
1 was decent. Had a good setup as to how the virus got out into the city.
2 was ok...Sienna Guillory kinda ruined it for me since she's such a horrible actress (at least worse than everyone else in RE2)
3 was semi terrible...but had Ali Larter for eye candy so that helped
4 I actually saw before playing the 5th game. After playing I understood where they got some of the content from and ended up liking it a bit more. Plus more Ali Larter *drool*
Just wondering what the plot is going to be for the next movie...and hoping to see cameos (or at least some mention) of Leon and Hunk.
I just wish they where more horror than action =\
Well, all of the movies are based upon the first one, and the first one were based upon the "Code: Veronica X" game - at least from my understanding. So I can somewhat understand why the normal characters don't play a large role in the movies, seeing as the movies pretty mch portray "what happens on the side".
I still think they should makea movie wiht Chris and Jill as main characters, though. There's an animated movie with Claire as star, why can't they make one with Chris or Jill?
I loved the first one, because even though it was different characters, it still fit in the storyline. Then they fucked it up with 2.
Also, I fucking HATE Jill's outfit. And not because of what it looks like, but because it is so out of scheme with the rest of the people.
It'd be like watching the new X-men, and everyone is wearing the black suits, but Wolverine is parading around in bright yellow and blue tights.
Even though it's accurate it makes her look so fucking cartoony because everyone else is wearing normal shit.
God forbid someone have a different opinion than you...
Maybe I should've rephrased, but I enjoyed #2 but didn't think it was "omg totally awesome". RE1 will always be my favourite Video Game>Movie transfer though so call me a groupie I just enjoy all these movies. They're good popcorn flicks honestly.
lol, I don't need "acting chops". What I need is either a movie that can follow the spirit of RE without shitting all over the original games (RE1), or a movie that follows the game coherently. RE is shit for an action franchise, horror, adaptation - whatever, the only thing is has going for it are references to the games. Yet it can' even do that right. Gfto with your shit.
If you want good "stupid action", look at Crank or Shoot 'em Up. Cause whatever RE is, it certainly ain't doing it right.
REBOOT

I'll admit it, I'm a fan of the Resident Evil films! Some have been better than others, but if the films weren't successful they wouldn't keep making them. The last installment made its money back fast, and that put Screen Gems on the fast track for the next installment and tonight the title and eve a teaser quad for the next film has been released.
This "reboot" will pair movie and game with the story. Once again directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, it will star Milla Jovovich as Alice (of course) and will take her back to where it all began, even further back this time plus as we reported a month or so ago she'll be joined by Sienna Guillory who reprises her character Jill Valentine. The film is even going to have Jovovich in kind of a supporting role and will focus on the Valentine character in this story. thegmae will have Valentine trying to slow down the spreading of the T-virus whle Alice goes after Umbrella and their monsterous work.
Resident Evil: Begins is the working title right now. It looks like Screen Gems is going with the reboot after all. Lot's of gamers will be happy with this choice but I'm sure many of the movie fans are scratching their heads after they see this but does this also tie in to a game? Dig on the teaser quad poster and let us know what you think about the route they are taking (so far).
Resident Evil: Begins 3D opens nationwide on September 14, 2012

I loved the 2nd one, because I got my first blowjob while watching it. It will always have a special place in my crotch <3
Booo! I liked the different story-lines and enjoyed the movies. Who gives a fuck if they weren't picture perfect adaptations of RE, go rewatch in-game cutscenes or some shit.
I still think that RE shoulda been a TV show like The Walking Dead. But I'll watch this..
Wait does that mean we're not going to find out
Spoiler: show
