Okay, I may have missed a film or completely blanked out their plots, but I thought humanity was nearly wiped out already. Seems to be a fair few of them left according to the trailer.

I'm not caring that much, just wondered is all, as I remember Jovavich looking for survivors in the last one I saw.

In the trailer they make it seem like the previous movies were all created memories for Alice, so maybe it's back to the point where the outbreak has just started?

no idea what's going on in this movie; therefore, logic dictates that i treat it as a new and exciting film with no prequels/sequels.

Or in RE6 she then finds out that those memories she thought were made up for her actually happened and the part where she finds out that the memories were fake is actually the fake memory as an attempt to gain control of her back.
