    Paul

Paul is a 2011 science fiction comedy film directed by Greg Mottola, written by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, and starring an ensemble cast headed by Pegg, Frost, and the voice of Seth Rogen as the title character.

The film contains numerous subtle references to other science fiction films, especially those of Steven Spielberg, as well as to general comic book culture.

i loved it, but you could tell edgar wright wasn't involved, it was a notch or two below SotD and HF, imo anyways.

Agreed, watchable but not as epic as SotD and HF.

I didn't expect it to be as good as SotD or HF. I wasn't as supergiddyhappy with the movie as I'd have liked to be, but I liked it. Bill Hader was fucking awesome, and I'll watch (almost) anything with Jason Bateman. Bad Jennifer Aniston movies aside.

    Spoiler: show
...though, I thought it was kinda lame that evolution automatically excluded religion. Plenty of people believe in both, afaik.

    inb4 religion debate

I'm way more excited for the last movie of the Three Flavors Cornetto trilogy. XD They're working on it now, I think?

I smiled a couple of times during the movie but only really laughed when the bar bard was playing the SW cantina music. Overall i thought the movie was too American and lacked the dry british whit that i love. It seemed like maybe a bunch of the movie got cut and maybe the directors cut may be better but overall i was disappointed. It could have been fucking fantastic. I mean more like SOTD + Spaced on a road trip in America with an alien. Don't get me wrong, i love Pegg + Frost but this could have been so much better.

I enjoyed the movie a lot when I saw it last night. Yes, the humor was a lot more lowbrow than SotD but it was a fun movie.
