We all have to admit though; some kids are just little turds. You then have to look at the parents, and I often wonder how much better the world would be if these parents were simply eradicated before tainting the genepool with their filth.
At that point, yeah, genetics. Which is why retards shouldn't breed; but that's a discussion for a later day.
Not that I agree with everything randomlettersguy has said, but do you really not know the difference between psychiatry and psychology? Hint: You have to go to medical school to be a psychiatrist.
Hitting/beating a kid as punishment should be the last resort. If they can't behave in public, not taking them out with you (until they CAN behave) is the best option. If that's unrealistic, and it probably is, fine, but beating them still is not the optimal punishment. When they're older, take things away when they do something negative. Fail a test? No more Xbox or laptop in your room. Knock up some skank at 14? That's one less coat hanger in your closet. Get in trouble for using your cell phone in school? No more phone. You can always make kids physically suffer without beating them i.e. chores, holding a quarter against the wall with their nose, whatever.
If your kid isn't just a total fuckup, they should think "I shouldn't do that again because it was bad," (which you're letting them know by punishing them) rather than "I shouldn't do that again or daddy will beat the shit out of me." They'll probably get to the first conclusion eventually either way, again, if they're not a total fuckup, but I'd still say a significant amount of beatings aren't necessary. I was never disciplined as a child (parents weren't home much, I got straight-A's and never really got in trouble in school, etc.) and I turned out fine.![]()
meant psychologists, calm down...and once again, let me demonstrate with a video
what we generally mean by slapping/"PHYSICALLY DEMOLISHING AND DESTROYING ARE CHILDREN"
Best I could find...but it demonstrates my point
This is what you seem to think we mean by beating our children:
Not taking them out in public is not punishment fyi. I'd rather stay home and watch cartoons than go out shopping.
for the first bold, ROFL, amazing. Second bold leads back to what we were saying before. Me hitting a child isn't be full force Chuck Norris roundhouse kicking him/her her in the face. I don't know why you all think hitting the child is equivalent to knocking teeth out. You are all taking this a bit too far. Spanking, either by hand or a belt, which is the most commonly used, isn't going to scar the kid for life. A few minutes of discomfort, possible crying on how much of a pansy your kid is, dependent on age, and that's it. corporal punishment at school usually hurt more than what i got; that paddle hurt like a mother fucker.
Sure, on tv you hear about parents literally beating the shit out of their kids. That's not what we're talking about. Pop, pop, pop, stop being a moron/cheat/thief/liar/idiot, pop, pop, now go sit over there and think about why you got spanked. Done. They pout, you feel kinda shitty for hitting the kid, but as long as the lesson is learned, you can all move on.
and yes, the NCIS head pops are perfect.
also, true statement, as a kid i would've rather been left at home to play sega/snes/n64/psone/xbawx/ps2/360/etc
Same...
"cmon josh get dressed you need new clothes"
*playing ff2 and I'm nowhere near a savepoint* "my clothes are fine, I dont wanna go"
*mom comes in and shuts game off* "lets go dammit"
*stunned look on face* "...."
Of course, my mom also swore in dialog towards me and my sister pretty commonly...idk how to say it, its not like she ever told us "fuck you" or whatever, but she wouldnt restrain herself from throwing them in as adverbs or subjects or adjectives.
I'd say they're the 2nd best. If you can get to what Abandon was talking about and the "I am disappointed." statement works on your kids, that's the best. I'm not certain how you get to that point (your kids need to respect you for that to matter) but yeah, otherwise beating works.
haha. i remember just getting super sonic in sonic 2 once, being told "hey, let's go" and me saying "not yet, still playing, hold on" and then *poof* pulled power cord, and "let's go boy, time to go see your aunt" (whom i HATED and he knew it)
"awwwwwww, man, come ON!!!!"
then we'd get there and I'd be a little shit because of the crime committed back home. Then because I was a shit i got whooped at home, which led to me standing and playing instead of sitting for a few minutes, then business as usual. next time he said "boy, let's go" i'd reply with "alright, coming" and not make him wait until he got mad, which led to me NOT being a shit since my game was still on, which led to me coming home with ice cream and mcdonalds, and being happy to sit on my ass and play. See? Progress.
I'm talking about screaming toddlers and kids of around that age. If they aren't developmentally ready to behave in a public place, then the best solution is to not take them to one. Let the wife/babysitter/prostitute watch the kid until they're old enough to know not to grab stuff off the shelves and scream that they want it. Again, I realize this isn't always practical.
Also, I don't see anywhere that I implied "savagely abusing" was "beating." Sorry if my first post was unclear.
So you're thinking this is about babies no more than 2 years old, and you think we'd beat them as punishment?
What....the.....fuck
