Thank you, that's a pretty decent find! I can't afford to throw a huge amount of cash at this right now. I'm not 100% fixed on the 4460 but it gets good mid range reviews and seems a decent compromise.

I am hoping to upgrade a bit more over time but this is for something I need to get built in the next couple of months.

Anyone recommend anything else or does that look like a good choice?
Amazon is no longer carrying this one, but I picked this up in August, and so far no issues. I do have a locked I5 Processor so it's technically overkill, but for the price I paid (think it was 80 with a MIR), I couldn't find anything better at that price range. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

After a week of my PC spazzing out (frying the controller board on a HDD among other things), finally figured out that it was my PSU committing suicide. Glad I kept an older one lying in a closet while I warranty this bitch.

Anyone in the market for a AIO CPU Cooler, throwing out an uber recommendation for the Cooler Master Nepton 240M. My 3570k is slightly retarded and has trouble going past 4.4Ghz, but these numbers (I also added a some extra fans for Push/Pull) speak for themselves. For reference my house is set for 75° F

Thank God for refunds and cheap Seagate controller boards, though my desktop is kind of useless atm without the drive.
I just built a new rig with this case but was puzzled on how to connect the fan controller (I'm new to PC building). I'm really impressed with the case though it was able to fit the Asus Strix GTX 980 with no problem. I'm also using the Deepcool Captain 240 which is sick as fuck, anyway I was wondering what I needed to get the fan controller rolling.

So I'm looking into picking up 2 of these monitors http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IEZGWI2/...57AMA7HL&psc=1 It's a samsung 28" 4k. I currently have a i5 3470k with a GTX 680. Was going to upgrade to this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125682 a GTX 980. The only question that I have is will the card be able to handle 2 4k monitors if I am only using one for gaming and other for movies and the internet?

Yes, BUT. 4k only works at 60hz if you are using displayport, it will only work at 30hz over hdmi or dvi - so your graphics card needs 2xDP outs at least - which that 980 has, just make sure you have the cables, and you will need to select displayport 1.2 on the monitor ( most of them come with 1.1 mode set - confused me why I couldn't get 60hz for a while ).

Personally feel 4k is useless before 40inches.

I need some advice asap before this deal ends. I'm planning on getting a QNIX 1440p monitor and will be upgrading my gpu. I was originally going to get a 970, but a R9 290x is on sale right now for $240 after rebate. The cheapest 970 I've found is $310 after rebate. All the reviews I've read seem extremely biased to the 970. I understand it will be better, but $70 better? Power consumption is a non factor. What's BG's opinion?

    edit: Or a GTX 780 for $245?

Get the R9 if ATI drivers dont piss you off and someone you dont care about pays your utilities.

I had issues with the Asus 290x I used and eventually had to RMA it because the card just died.

Drivers are always an issue with AMD, and if you like to tweak settings with something like Nvidia Inspector your only option is the no longer updated Radeonpro which I had quite a few problems with as well.

I'm leaning towards the 780. I just came back from Microcenter and scored a I5-4690k + Asus Maximus Hero VI for $262 out the door to put into the new pc I'm building. If anyone is in Michigan and wants to buy an I5-3570k rig let me know!

I missed out on the 290x deal. I guess going from a 770 2gb to the 780 doesn't make much sense. I'm really having trouble justifying the cost of a 970 vs a 290(x). So many reviews, benchmarks, etc do not have a clear cut winner. I do think the 970 probably is the better performer, but at $100 more than a 290? What do people think is the sweet spot for $ to performance? For 1440p?

edit: Pulled the trigger on a 7990 refurb from Newegg for $275. Very excited!

I might want a bigger PSU. 430 watts is skirting the edge of what could support any recent AMD GPU

Honestly, that's almost identical to my build, only differences being the PSU, case, GPU (i have the asus 290) and your motherboard is what replaced mine. Should be a solid system for him.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing but Newegg put together a box with a bit less juice (400W). Still, it's usually better to err on the side of caution with PSU's; how about this?

Last week or so Newegg had a XFX 550w 80+ Bronze for $26 after rebate. I'm a huge fan of that psu. You can definitely snag a quality 500w+ psu for under $40. In my main I grabbed an EVGA 750w B2 SuperNova for $33 after rebate.

One last thing, does anyone have a particular recommendation for a UPS?
