It basically imploded. Something will release eventually though. Maybe.
Nice build though. Prices won't really be dropping below that anytime soon. Could go with a smaller ssd if you wanted to save a few bucks.

Man, prices have gone down significantly. I think I spent about 1500 (included a monitor) and only got the 250gb Samsung Evo, Radeon 290x graphics card, 8gb ram and a smaller PSU.
Yeah prices have dipped pretty good, especially for a DDR3 system. 16gb of ram can be found for $60. Solid 750w+ psu for $50+ and even as low as $33. Jet.com has had R9 390 8GB for as low as $190 and GTX 970 for $235 ish. Deals are out there and building a monster PC for $1000 or so is quite reasonable.
Damn, I'll be hella tempted to upgrade my 380 to a 390 if I see one of those on sale that doesn't involve a rebate fix. Those assholes at PowerColor didn't budge on my rebate claim, just automated bs reply.
You sure that isn't supposed to be $290 for that? lol
Positive. It's for a VisionTek model on Jet.com. Use promo code 20NOW at checkout (new accounts only) for 20% off (max $50 discount). The card has been $253, so minus the $50, plus waving returns gives another $5 or so off and when using a debit card you get another 1.5% off. I have the page bookmarked and am checking religiously to see about it. Yesterday it appeared in stock but every time I'd go to checkout I'd get the "this item is not in stock" at checkout. They also had the PowerColor model for like $225.
I was checking out the 970s on their site and using that code but it won't let me because I tried to use it before on an order that they cancelled on me because they listed the wrong price.
Wow, Jet.com is the sauce with those prices. Looks like I'll be upgrading this Christmas lmao
Multiple accounts. Some say their orders get cancelled, but so far I've used it three times. Shoot, my last order I even used an email that doesn't even exist on accident and it still processed the order and shipped. If I ever have an order cancel with them I'm not going to be all up in arms as long as it's a possible price mistake or w/e. Just make sure to read the item description very carefully. For instance, I ordered a four pack of Cougar Vortex 120mm fans. One of the listings had a picture of the black fans but when reading the description it would've been for the orange fans. I found the listing for the blacks and got them. Also, there is a $15 off $35 code too. I forget which code it is exactly. It may be save15now or 15bucksnow. Might have to try a few. I got my Phanteks Enthoo Pro case for like, $72.![]()
After emailing support they applied their 15% first orders to my cart. Got a 970 and 16gb of ram for $345 with my debit card, and after comparing the 970s on newegg it looks like on newegg the card is 340 and change. We'll see how it works out. They don't say anything on the site about the free AC Syndicate that newegg has listed, hopefully since it looks like an nvidia bonus there will be a flyer inside the box for it. That would be pretty awesome.

Yeah, having a huge SSD is slightly counterproductive, as the main benefit of SSDs is the ability to quickly wipe and reinstall windows. You can put games or applications that you use very frequently there but for general use stuff, a HDD is by far more practical and economical.
SSDs are faster, yes. But even in multiplayer games, a good HDD will load with no problem with time to spare. But once in the game environment, hard drive speed becomes relatively unimportant. If you just really, REALLY hate loading screens, then by all means put your games on your expensive SSD, but otherwise there's not much point other than quickly loading windows or 20 minute reinstalls. Obviously, certain non gaming applications can benefit heavily from faster hard drive access speeds, but most are not used by the general public.
I'ma let Krandor handle this.
Honestly, I'm not even gonna try.
Need some help. My (almost) 7 year old computer has finally kicked the bucket I think. It'll start up (can hear the drives spinning) then clicks once and 3/4 red lights on my video card flash and the computer restarts. Think I'm going to try getting a new PSU to see if it's a power issue, but in the mean time wanted to see if I could get some input on a budget gaming rig.
Trying to keep it under $700 for a multitude of reasons including my recent wedding, Christmas coming up, and trying to save up for a deposit on a house. Obviously, if anyone can provide some input on some of the parts it'd be greatly appreciated.
Toki's PC Build
Pretty solid, I'd get a 970 or a 390 for the graphics card though, it'll last you all the way to next gen multi-platforms or VR headsets.
The other option is to go Z170 now with an i5 6600 and ddr4, it'd give you the option to do cost efficient upgrades in a year or two if you do wanna beef up the rig for VR.
Only real gripe is the psu. I really dislike Corsair CX. They are low quality. Get an Antec, XFX, Seasonic, or EVGA B2/G2/GS. Last thing to skimp on is the psu. A quality 550w 80+ bronze will handle a 390 or 970 with no issues. As Gryffes said, I'd go with a higher quality card as well. I really dislike the 950/960 as AMD's lineup offers more bang for the buck at those price points and for usually much much less.
Not going to lie, if you guys can point out where I'm wrong, I'd greatly appreciate it. I build all of my PCs myself, but don't have any formal education in doing so. In my current build I use a SSD for my main drive, but it only has Windows on it. I could certainly see a benefit of having a large SSD as a second drive, but it seems like more of a convenience issue, as most of the people you play with in a multiplayer game will be using traditional HHDs.
