Decided to stay with my 960 till Tax refund comes in so I can go 980 ti. Been hearing lots of good things about MSI. Thoughts?

I have the MSI 980ti Gaming. Hands down sexiest card I have owned.

MSI and gigabyte do really well, Asus too.

If I were you, I wouldnt buy a 980ti this close to Pascal launch. I plan on selling mine. Hopefully I can get $400 for it after Pascal launches.

Yeah I'm playing to build a new desktop soon, but waiting until this next set of GPUs comes out. The bits and pieces known about Polaris and Pascal sound very good.

Seeing Polaris and Pascal news has been getting me hyped real good but waiting until probably a Q3 release is a pickle when I've been also looking to build a new pc now and settling for an r9 390. Then again I'm not flush enough to blow 1k for a pair of 4k monitors which will likely be next spring's project along with the new gpu.

Okay. What I got runs just fine, but I'm thinking about eventually repping the vid card (Having some minor texture flickering in FFXIV, I hope it isn't dying..) Any advice on what to keep a eye on? I don't have a lot of money to blow but I think it'd help things run better. Oh and I do like Nividia cards.

My current card is a 1023MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti (EVGA) if that helps, and this is a custom built pc in the first place.

I'd try to hold onto that card until the new Polaris and Pascal are released. That will mean price drops for both retail and more importantly the used market. If you absolutely need to get a card I would keep an eye on /r/hardwareswap until you can get some dollars together for a more permanent replacement.

I figured that Kal; I'm just trying to figure out a ballpark figure to save up for and what cards might be good that might possibly be good for someone on a budget...After the new cards come out. Other than that very minor flickering (which *might* be driver related, I dunno for sure; it's just on one piece of furniture so far and I can ignore that, but it is worrying)

I have to plan big purchases months in advance since I'm not rich, that's why. ^^ But if anyone has suggestions on what to keep a eye on, I'd appreciate it. ^^

If the flickering is only on a single texture in the game, it's probably a bug or corrupted file.

Thank you for that cyn. Been thinking about upgrading the card anyway, tho it's a shame XIV doesn't seem to have a file check like XI so I could do a quick fix.

But yeah, what cards are good now a days guys so I can save up? I fig after the new cards come out there will be deals on the old ones, so need to figure on a ballpark. ^^

Would anyone recommend me a website I could buy a solid desktop to run League of Legends and Dark Souls 3 are a solid fps? Or do people build and sell them on here? Thanks. Really don't want to buy a PS4 unless *maybe* they came with the DS3 bundle Japan has.

There are people on here that you could commission to build you a PC (I would probably do it, and there are others that I don't want to speak for).

Well, solid pc and Dark Souls 3 may be tricky right this minute as it's probably going to be dependent upon if there are bugs like previous installments and what the fixes are. I didn't buy/play 2 but 1 had it's fair share. For a League pc that is very easy and cheap.

I would recommend you build it yourself. Learn how to. It isnt hard at all. It is a very exciting and fun experience to build one.

The only "difficult" part about building a PC is applying thermal paste, and a good number of coolers these days come with paste pre-applied.

I'd say it's pretty good for the price. You definitely want to up the video card though, like you said.

My only thought, is the psu enough? I didn't see the spec but I skimmed and am running out the door right now.
