Now I know what to tell people when ever they bring up the "hardcore" argument in MMO's!

And I tend to agree with this. Give this task to a trainee or something if you want, but for everything that is holy and cursed in this world, let the real developpers work on what is really needed.
Who knows if it wasn't given to a trainee? All we know is that its on the way, and the purists and Tea Partiers start frothing at the mouth about how it shouldn't be coming out (doesn't matter what the justification is; be happy that ANYTHING is getting put it for a game that's been out for nearly a year and still sucks).

You talk about the devs needing to get their priorities right. I think these purists need to get their shit straightened out.

Edit: Naw Xalien; it won't end until its in the game, probably, which will hopefully be soon. Especially considering, you know, you can't alt/tab without blowing the game up. Still.

    Just like with XI.

Right, windower, made by fans. I know.

And yes, Kuro, we're part of the problem, but not all of the problem, just like with politics.

So, while I am saying that the game sucks to the point that a clock widget isn't going to have an impact at all... you are saying that we should just be happy and grateful for anything they do.

What the fuck is going on?

Please get off this obnoxious kick where you consider my disapproval of their priorities somehow equals disapproval for any change whatsoever. Hell, it's less about their priorities and more about having a problem with what official-forum retards are making noise about since that's apparently SE's only gauge of the community's wants. I ultimately do not care one way or another if the game ends up with a fucking clock. Do you understand this?

We've been through this, Mioko. Check your posts months ago. While the rest of us were concerned with the shitty state of the game in alpha, much less beta, you were white-knighting your way to a supposed paycheck from SE's own coffers. Now you want to try and spin it like you're on the same train as the rest of us?

    Get the fuck outta here.

I don't know what those are, but it's not even really a windower it just positions the window so the borders are hidden, once that's done you can close it if you want.

I've noticed that if you leave it running it can causes crashes during some cutscenes, but there's no need to keep it running anyway.

While you're all bitching about the game I had a good bitch today on the official forums when someone posted a thread about people not posting much since they added character data to your posts. I figure it will go down better on here than the official forums.

"I don't post much any more because I can barely bring myself to play at all lately. I've fast been losing interest in the game over the past month or so. A few main reasons.

The server population must be down to the double digits now on Wutai. This means almost nothing will sell in the market wards and if you're not online at least once per hour to relist all your items (a huge chore in itself) you don't have any hope of selling because of undercutters. This takes the motivation to craft and gather away. I've no interest in levelling another battle class either until they announce which class gets which job.

Watching half the people I've known and played with over the past 6 months quit, more and more every month to the point where my linkshell now is almost a completely different set of people than it was in January. There's no reason to get to know people because chances are they'll be quitting next.

The butchering of auto attack implementation for archers has killed any interest I had in patch 1.18 so it's wait wait wait for 1.19 and hope that has some nice things.

The delay after delay for the patch itself is also contributing. It's evident that the development team for this game must be in the single digits. I mean since they announced redevelopment in January what have they done? Do you really think auto attack should take 7 months to implement? Hell no. It's evident they only have one person working on the battle system.

It's quite clear that when SE realised the game was a fail they gave it a minimal team to keep it going and try improve it to cash in on PS3 sales. Yoshi might have nice visions for the game but in reality it's not going to happen fast enough to save the game. The game will always be behind other MMOs playing catch up.

One thing SE are good at however is talking things up to keep you waiting. I remember back in like February in an interview where they said they were hoping to implement two patches for the battle system in the next few months. Sure an earthquake hit, but that delayed development by no more than three weeks. In reality we won't see 1.18 until near the end of July and 1.19 at the end of September.

Would you still be playing if you knew in September that the game would still be pretty much the same (minus lag) in July? The content they've added is irrelevant. The NMs were so bad they became obsolete within a week due to their drop and spawn rates and the quests were slaughtered by everyone. Other changes? Where? UI is still the same, crafting is still the same. Only major visible changes are to the market wards.

I'm starting to wish the game would fail so I can justify quitting."

The game is in severe transition. While I won't tell you not to quit, or to have patience I will tell you to shut the hell up and grow some balls. Square isn't responsible for your addiction. Man up.

Game may not have numbers but it is still generating quite a buzz of intrigue with the going ons. I quit dec. I'll come back if it ever looks interesting again

I don't understand why you're not quitting. From your post, it's pretty clear that you're not enjoying the game as much as you would like to and that you're forcing yourself to continue playing hoping that it will someday meet your expectation.

It might be just me, but it doesn't feel like an healthy attitude to take toward a game. You would be better off trying another mmo with a couple of friends, or focusing a different kind of entertainment for a while. It will probably save you some stress a long run.

The "game" probably has little to no funding because the "game" doesn't make any money. I bet you they spend half of their time figuring out whats cost effective within the budget they've been given. I believe it takes awhile to code whatever ideas they come up with because they have to code it in such a specific way due to how fail the server infrastructure is, they will blow up their server software causing a cataclysmic error that could wipe all data because it was made in 2001.

This patch, come on, how seriously can you take it? two dungeons, no means of lotting loot in sight, it's going to be a failure. First part of the battle reform is going to be a welcomed change but lol @ the new stat system coming in 1.19, so stats are still going to be broke for quite sometime still. The whole Archer auto-attack fiasco is just SE SILL being 5 years behind the curve.

If you're a passionate 14 player, you should probably chill out, wait till 1.25 releases(if the 14 lives that long.) There isn't going to be this one magical patch that is going to completely change the way you feel about 14, didn't we all learn that before the "game" shipped after "open beta?"

Nah, it's not just you, it's a really unhealthy, weak attitude to have. If you're not having fun, don't play. If you need a green-light from someone else to make that decision for you, then that's bad. There are plenty of better, more fun, more productive things to do than play a game you don't enjoy.

I stick it out because who knows, 1.18 might bring enough players back to get the server moving again. It might have a decent dungeon in it, who knows? But if 1.18 fails what next? Everyone who came back for the patch quits again along with more pissed off players? It's the length of time it's taking for this stuff that gets me, which as I said earlier is evident of a very small development team. A small development team can't do much. And does it really take a month of playing a couple of one hour dungeons non-stop in order to balance them?

I know four people on Selbina with the same attitude Seph has. They have several jobs at 50 already and sit in Ul'dah crafting all day and bitch and moan about how bad the game is yet they continue to play, every day, for hours and hours. I just don't get it. Maybe because it's free? Have they grown attached because of the progress they've already made? Nothing is worse than doing something for hours on end and hating it. Last I checked for most people, that's called a day job.

Some people like to complain. Some people like to complain about people that complain. This is me complaining about everybody.
