Oh I agree there were very good things in those instances that led to what WoW is today.

I was watching a rouges perspective on Rag V1.0 and it's no where near the involvement most fights are these days.

I was on board for NMs that instantly respawn and are slaughtered in 2 minutes. For an hour long dungeon, it doesn't really matter to me what the lockout is so long as the difficulty is appropriate.

I'll only approve of cloaks that either have:

A) a sweet-ass torn-costume-effect look. Or
B) appear as though there is a wind blowing through them constantly.

I was sort of hoping we'd be getting cloaks eventually, perhaps with Private company insignias on them in the future. Lightning from XIII-single-shoulder cloaks would've been pretty neat for that.

Yeah, hope they change their minds, or add a better physics toggle so that those with crappy PCs don't have to deal with the "burden" and those of us who don't can have Fucking Awesome Cloaks.

I like the idea of the private company cloaks, but the issue there would be how many different possibilities for crests there would be, and thus how many different versions the art team would have to texture up, to meet their standards of quality.

Maybe tie special capea/cloaks/dusters/othersweetlonggarments to completing hidden bosses in dungeons? I'm fine with them being town gear, since there isn't really an equip slot for a cape or overgarment (or they could add one, which would be ideal), but have cool billowy overgarments as visible bragging rights for doing things that are genuinely hard (through good fight design, not FFXI "moar HP and hit moar harder" fight design). Lets all the xxSephirothxx kiddies have their "classic FF" (lawl) coats, and everyone else just have badass billowy overgarments to hoof around in.

Cloaks sound shitty. Except if its very specific, like western assassin-type of a deal, illustrated by jp artists.

BUT! I like what they have going on with the company artwork. Chocobos with those tall Samurai style flags. Dayum.

Personally, I dislike cloaks. They're kind of cliche in a bad/cheesy way. They don't particularly fit into XIV's art direction as well, since most all of it is 19th century England inspired. It isn't some medieval fantasy. Fantasy isn't inherently middle ages. So, good riddance to no cloaks. Fuck em.
