We have no idea, especially if people are saying that there's some 120+ members on this new team. You're making excuses about a problem that exists in 0 other mainstream MMOs. Come the fuck on.

Why are you people D/C'ing so much? The last time I D/C'ed in this game was in beta. Because I've basically never disconnected in XIV post-release I have to question your own machines and/or internet connections.
I dunno man. Tonight we ran darkhold three times and all three times we had someone d/c. Last one was on Batraal too. SE really needs to fix their shit.
Gotta love how it takes 15 min to log back in sometimes too.
The problem is we were told DCing wouldn't be an issue, then a week about before the patch we'd be told we'd be teleported to the outside of the dungeon upon relogging with no information if we could enter or not, sure enough the worse case scenario happened where if you DC for whatever reason you're f*cked.
And just for another kicker why will it take until 1.19 to fix this? When Yoshida already confirmed that 1.18a is happening? This isn't a minor bug, it's a very serious issue that no MMO should have in this day and age.
I was talking about some friends about TERA dungeons today which made me think about the two current dungeons in FFXIV.
In TERA you get great exp for kills inside dungeon and on top of that you can get exp quest which gives additional exp on top of that. Aside of that there's some decent gear. There's some great gear, and there's some spectacular gear from each dungeon. You want to come back to those places.
Currently the two dungeons in XIV are not particularly fun, give ok exp, and the rewards are just reskinned items. I haven't seen one spectacular piece out of there.
It seems to me that Yoshi isnt thinking far enough with this. I'm assuming he will release something to get AF at rank 50ish which will completely remove need for gear from the Darkhold rendering it obsolete.
This way it's gonna end up just like XI where people will grind to the cap and worry about the gear than.
Anyways I guess off topic, just something that came to mind today.
Considering how well received these two instanced raids were, that's a pretty bold statement to label them as "not particularly fun."
Don't know much about these dungeons since I just recently came back, but it would seem that they're just a bit of content for people to do while they wait for updates. I'm kind of hoping to hear about some more epic endgame stuff, just as something to look forward to. Needs some Sky / Sea with updated graphics.
They never said d/c wasn't an issue. Actually I remember them not commenting on the issue at all until they mentioned that getting disconnected was going to kick you outside of the dungeon which is simply a temporary countermeasure.
The issue lies with the shitty netcode they're dealing with so it's not exactly something they can iron out in a week or two after this patch.
Rebuilding a netcode surely doesn't take a few days as they've been on it for a while now. Possibly 1.19 is when they'll start improving/changing it so that's why you see this fix then.
I knew it would come down to this.
So to "act professionally" today, all they need to do is to go back in time and fix the problems before they even exist.
At least you aren't setting your expectations too high.
The game is pretty unforgiving when it comes to packet loss. Why are you people D/C'ing so much? The last time I D/C'ed in this game was in beta. Because I've basically never disconnected in XIV post-release I have to question your own machines and/or internet connections.
I do think DC is partially at the player's side too. When people in my linkshell DC during raids it's ALWAYS the same people. Always during a cutscene too. It seems there's some hardware that causes the client to just quit or something.
Toto-rak was a bit fail to be honest. But that's because it's rank 30 and almost everyone currently playing is rank 50 in something. Why do a 30 dungeon when a more challenging 50 is there? Sure it's for PS3/new players, but releasing it now was a bit premature. Two 50 dungeons probably would have worked better for now.
Uhh... no. To "act professionally" today, they need to fix the problem before 1.20. They should have fixed it when they knew it was a problem - presumably before public Alpha/Beta, or as soon as public Alpha/Beta rolled around and they saw the logs and heard the complaints. They know its a problem, we know that they've known that its been a problem for the entirety of our play-time (again, public Alpha/beta), and regardless of what revolving door "team" is working on it, they should have had it fixed by now. Its not, so they should seriously have it fixed before 1.20.
To what end? The disease is still there. Few thousand "customers" will give a shit- at best.Uhh... no. To "act professionally" today, they need to fix the problem before 1.20.
Even if they couldn't fix the primary issue behind it, they have a better shot at getting revenue when they try to do that instead of acting like every customer is equal.
Nobody in-game is worth the effort.
That's an excellent mindset to have. Did they have you on board when they were designing this game? I can see why its doing so well.
Crap, I'm out of popcorn. Brb.
