Is this part of the "UI changes"? /sigh

This current UI, in one form or another, is going to be the base for the PS3 release. It's not surprising that they want to polish it as much as possible, and make it as usable/good looking as possible.

Can't blame SE for targeting the low-hanging fruit, the problem is how slow they're eating it.

On a note related to later posts, I would like to see SE extend an olive branch to people who've played the game in its current state when the PS3 release does roll around. Give everyone with an account active for some specified length of time a second character slot for free, so we have the option to re-roll as femGalk or mancat, without having to wipe out our main or pay more to have the character we may have wanted since day 1. I don't expect anything of the sort will happen, but I can hope.

Animations are already getting an overhaul, new races are supposed to come with PS3 release so "someday"

Thanks, that's very nice to know. Not too many people on Saronia that I've seen currently. Is there a main gathering point in the game for people yet (ie Jeuno back in the day), or are people just spread out?

Saronia has a seriously tiny population, Ul'dah is the only place you're going to find people for anything.

Would have been awesome if they included Ivalice races, but HDing XI's required much less effort, and this is SE.

There are already moogles tho, unless you mean playing as a moogle.

Something looks off about that character, design of the outfit and the model seems bit plain.

They'd be wise to give her a reskin when the rest of the ladygalks come into play. It wouldn't be the first time, as Blizzard does it all the time and its a nice touch, especially if the character is lore-important.

The most obvious parts are the nose and lack of elf-ears... and her name.

You're spot on about the nose and the ears, but yeah, the name... sounds like someone was shot in the back of the head while having their fingers on the keyboard, or sneezed into it or something.

Honestly there are tons of faceroll NPC names in FFXIV. There's a NPC in LL near the dock who's name is Ahldskyf.

I believe most of the Roegadyn names are of Welsh/Norweigan/Swedish/Northern-European/etc. origin, as the Sea Wolf tribe has a very Viking-esque background. Forgive my cultural ignorance, I don't remember which exact country commonly has names likes these (they definitely look Welsh at first glance). Much like all the Elezen names are generally French-sounding, and I think a bunch of Hyur have German names.
