Yeah, definitely something that can have big impact on the game.
also, probably old news but this guy looks cool, I guess appears around Horizon.

So glad they asked that question, cause the response is pretty much what I expected. "Not much we can do now." De-categorizing weapons would take SO long.Famitsu: Currently short swords or curved blades fall under the sword category. In future will it be more detailed categorized? Or planning to have these as a main and class such as Thief?
Yoshida: Honestly this part I am just closing my eyes on this one. Instead of making adjustments here rather make class or jobs with two handed or duel wielding weapons. But thinking of Thief as a scout class.
I'll trade the UK for the next letter. It's been toooo looong
Not sure if you're trolling or not. Has it really been that long since last letter?
Btw, I'm finding myself logging into the game a lot more. Just log in and do some leves or quests on my LNC for some nice quick exp. Like the direction the game is going in.
2 weeksssss
Not to mention letter XV was fluff.
Plus he said that 'the next letter' (XV) would have had 1.19 info in it. Nawp.
I know its a bargain, but he should at least consider my offer.
Not sure anyone wants the UK right now... lol
Not sure that I approve but I guess I'll wait and see.We talked to shield master Matsui about the possibility of auto-block implementation and he said that they are going to be eliminating the "Guard" ability, which will lead to the shield block activating on its own in the future.
About motherfucking time. When you are disconnected you should be able to log back in within a minute. However, due to a bug that was discovered, certain data is being retained on the server that makes it think the character is still logged in, regardless of whether you were disconnected or not. This then causes the phenomenon to occur that stops you from being able to log in for up to 10 minutes.
Sorry for the time it took for us to discover a resolution to this, but this will finally be fixed in patch 1.19.
Only thing that concerns me is that claim system they're talking about. I see that doing more harm than good.
It works in literally every other MMO...
I don't really care much for it. To me it just means that they're going to be taking the instanced route for shit that matters. Which is win all by itself. Fuck world spawns.
Well my problem is will there be some way to prevent griefing? High levels could just kill whatever you're fighting to ruin your EXP, gimp shells will be throwing body after body on world spawns (Though it didn't stop some people), and if they make anything like Spike Flail how can we prevent that if anyone can fight it?
The claim system change is fine with me. It is like that in most other MMOs and it doesn't become a grief-fest really. At least it didn't in Aion outside of the Abyss.
It's like the Autobon. There's no speed limit and people don't get into as many accident there as they do on I-95, where the speed limit is 55-65, here in the states. FF players might fear it because they've only ever had a speed limit. Either that or they've made a lot of enemies. Do enough people play this game to be worried about griefing open world/XP mobs? Not that I think that should be a factor in the decision, but it should ease some of the reservations towards its implementation.
No need to worry about such. The game will become a hub/instancefest soon enough, with open world design that is largely irrelevant and only pulls the gameplay down. We'll teleport everywhere and the other players will be gray mass that is pulled from other servers, people that you'll never see again and who have no relevance to you outside that single instance.
It's still called an MMO because there's a 50+ level tutorial that you want to get over with ASAP to get to the real thing.
You prefer everything being automated over actual human contact? Welcome to the glorious MMO future, that mimics the glorious Western individualistic society.
Finally. I never saw the point in "click-to-do" guard, like my character needs an active reminder to make use of that metal thing she's carrying in her left hand.We talked to shield master Matsui about the possibility of auto-block implementation and he said that they are going to be eliminating the "Guard" ability, which will lead to the shield block activating on its own in the future.
One thing would be to have players choose between stances, making effective decisions. Another one is a boring, constant clicking the same thing over and over.
Auto-shield would be very nice and actually like....make sense. Having to click the damn guard thing every 10-20 secs is just pointless, it doesn't cost stamina anymore, there's no recast timer, it's possible to maintain 24/7, so just make the shit auto. Or, as mentioned, stance-based, if for some reason you don't want to block.
The same problem exists throughout the game, except it's not always 10-20 seconds.
Like why do I have to re-activate Speed Surge every 3minutes? Why can't it just be active until I toggle it off or switch to another Surge, or for 60minutes? You know, like Hasso/Seigan in XI... stances, whatever you want to call them, or how enchantments last an hour in most other games. Defender lasts 25mins though so at least they got that right. But then protect/shell only 5m? It's a lot of these little things that add up to some really annoying gameplay when you look at the game as a whole.
Yeah that seems to have worked marvelously for them so far, lol.
The whole 5 minutes on Protect and Shell was one of the most annoying things for me as well. Nothing like being a healer and have someone drop while you are trying to rebuff your group. =(
