Well, so much for waking up and hoping to see new info.
Well, so much for waking up and hoping to see new info.
Still a few hours before the community reps come to work. As far as 'official info' goes though, no dice.
True but at the same time I really want to hear something directly from SE instead of a rep saying they notified the dev team about X topic.
On the plus side, nice to see someone finally give shit to the typical "SE owes me since I'm a blind fanboy and paid for a shit game" dumbass.
Semi hoping they do something big with some surprise.
I'm sure they can in a way tell just by looking at

which has been up for 5 days with 196 likes means something... (they need to add a dislike button for topics too)![]()
Yoshida posted..
In the crafting thread.
Quite a bit of stuff in there.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ll=1#post81366
"Some items require too many ingredients"
"Materiacraftsystem", perhaps a way to enhance existing equipment with catalysts. Not sure.
Plan to have the first 20 ranks work as tutorial of sorts and to let the crafters participate in the economy after rank 20 mostly.
Some kind of, uhh.. personalized crafting? A way to differentiate products from one another... I guess lol.
Materiacraftsystem to address repairing somehow, but it's gonna take some time to implement and until then other adjustments are made.
URL again since I can't read squiggles?
EDIT: Whoops, didn't know I could track someone's posts. For anyone that wants to take a crack at it, click here.
Ever since they told us they'd make gear obtainable from quests and monsters I've been concerned about their direction with crafting, but this sounds cool.
Edited my post with a link to it. However yeah events and gear does bring up an interesting point with crafting.
At least on a plus side if they do add gear obtained through events maybe we can get grounds to remove the durability system?
EDIT: Bleh, google translate wasn't too helpful. However I hope they'll simplify recipes so I don't have to turn cloth into sleeves/fronts/backs, nuggets into buckles, etc.
Sounds interesting, and sounds like it may be a part alchemy related ...?
I guess all the craft bots will be in luck!
(soorta reminds me of "gemming gear")
Oh god please let them do this. The repair system in this game is the most tedious and useless thing ever created by mankind.
Last night I went out to solo some random mobs, and after half an hour my sword broke so my ACC went down to a ridiculous level. At this point I considered running into town and repairing it, but decided it wasn't worth it and just logged off. To me the repair system is just that frustrating at this point.
Evolith system for 14 maybe? Color me uninspired.
Evoliths were a huge failure in XI, as evidenced in part by how updates now seem to all but forget they exist. Something simpler like PWi's "slots" could work though - rather than dicking about with NMs and having to get the right size "slot" and element and junk, you just stick a gem (or whatever) item on your gear. Doesn't need to be hugely complex to involve crafters somehow.
Less bots? :3With these coming up, I don't think crafting needs much else for the time being
Sounds fine to me o:
And ya if it ends up being useless like Evoliths, then lol. I can see them making it more relevant here tho.
Evolith wasn't entirely a waste. It laid the groundwork for Trials of the Magian XD
Now he's talking about something else. Company info next week (hopefully patch notes this week tho), and something about how they develop the game.
God I wish I knew Japanese...
All I really got out of the new post (the one with the quotes) was something about he was going to talk about the economy and possibly the battle system.
Let's hope it's on the 20th...
Looking forward to simplification of some recipes, most notably cooking recipes. Total cost to level cooking is the worst of all jobs when you consider what you could be doing with those trillions of fish.
