"Penalty" image alone is what leaves bad taste in players mouth. Yoshi needs to focus on adding plenty of content for people who play casually and than content for those who play hardcore.

Now if Yoshida would comment on that NM thread...
Why would he? The guy seemed serious at first but then he brought his entire LS to start spamming and raising the page count for the sake of it. The last pages have been nothing but his 7 LS members trolling the 3 guys that are still responding.
I don't know what's worse, that they might be serious and expect 24 hour HNMs to ever appear in the game, or that they think there's not going to be any kind of gear progression for years like in XI.
I'm surprised the thread isn't locked yet.
In hopes it'd get people to shut up, but considering the waterworks that happened today with the announcement of the party size adjustment when this was known at the start of the year I doubt it'd happen.
Either way, nice to see us starting to get some responses from the dev team. Hopefully news about airships/chocobos next.
I like the direction the game is going, removing crafting gauge, surplus, simplifying the crafting system/repair system the only major gripe i would have left is transportation like chocobos.
my god, if they could remove the repair system then i'd be ecstatic about the future of the game.
Is the repair system really that bad now that you only need to repair stuff once every 4 days to a week?
it is a minor annoyance now but people loves to bitch about everything, its how FFXIV community works.
They should just allow NPC's to do repairs to 100%, and instead of requiring mats to have a player repair, they just need the crafting tool (and put a repair npc at every aether/camp spot).
That way, you don't need to randomly search for a crafter to repair your stuff to 100%.. you can just pay the NPC some amount like 20.000g to repair a R50ish weapon (and the repair cost depending on dura to 100% not "always " some static amount) or pay some random crafter to repair it and not hoping he has horn glue or a bronze nugget or yazron leg or whatever else to repair stuff.
Did they ever fix accuracy yet? friend was raging about how bad his maurader misses lol
Eh not exactly a good idea. Part of the reason the repair system is the way it is right now is because the repair system is both a gil sink and an item destroying mechanic. They want to make sure only crafters can re-add items back into the market, if any player can do it, eventually you are going to get major item saturation for armor/tools/weapons and the crafters can't be in control of actually making the gear once that happens. Other games just made items bind on equip so the stuff couldn't re enter the market. The repair system was a compromise to allow people to work towards adding items back into the game if they worked on it. Right now I think they just need to streamline the repair synths so its easier for crafters to do it on the spot and not need a crap ton of items in your inventory, and maybe make NPC repair give up to 90% instead of 75%.
edit: bah double post
Random crafting/gathering stuff:
Also a "no resources to do this yet, but we'll look into it later" for linkshell management options (they want to implement text commands first), as well as "making eorzea more alive and dynamic". Battle system is the highest priority for them right now.Greetings fellow adventurers!
With the expansion of player storage space, the development team has been talking and would like to give a quick update on their future plans. First in order to decrease the number of necessary materials, they’re looking to adjust crafting recipe requirements. This will affect storage issues, but the development team will continue to make further adjustments to directly address that concern. The development team is also planning to adjust the currently cumbersome UI; however these adjustments are just the beginning.
Also regarding high quality +1 and +2 items, we have made an adjustment where they can no longer be obtained through combat; however they are still obtainable through crafting. We would like to hear your thoughts on whether or not it’s a good idea to remove them from crafting results altogether along with any other feedback on this subject.
Behest rank restrictions:
The development team is aware of the current situation where players, whose ranks are too low to participate, are present within Behest and the team feels that there is nothing negative about placing a rank restriction. As a result, they are considering such an action but at the same time they are thinking within what level range the restriction should be applied. Changing the class during Behest can also be used to switch to a low-ranking class but restricting the class change could make things inconvenient for players. With this in mind, they will be holding further discussions on the topic.
Wait, what? They're expanding inventory?
I'm kind of on the fence about HQ1/HQ2s, it is a bit of an annoyance since they take up a ton of inventory, but at the same I don't mind it.
Text commands are a start for LS management, but on the other hand would it really take them that long to make a dropdown menu when you click on a person's name for commands (Tell, Boot, Promote, etc.)?
Yeah I'd like them to keep +1 +2 around for crafting, but the inventory problem needs to be addressed someway or the other.
Well, that would delay their other tasks. I think the combat system is a big pile of stuff that will be released at the same time next month if they don't delay it (considering it's their highest priority they haven't shown much of their fruits of labor so far). I guess a lot of stuff has to be functional for us to be able to play with it. Rather have them make sure that all works on that front for now... even if the patches are rather small for the time being at least.
It's all about priorities... and we all have our own opinion regarding that. I can agree with how they're proceeding right now (surprising isn't it LOL), if the end result makes it worth the substantial wait. Too bad I can't play the game after May until the fucking end of August.
Good point, but if the command to kick someone is something like /lcmd kick <name> it might be a PITA due to some of the names people have.Well, that would delay their other tasks. Either way it's just temp so it's nothing to really get worked up over, and if they make the menus client side instead of server side it'll make it all the more sweeter when it arrives.
when are the combat changes supposed to be reworked? I hope they change things from the ground up instead of tweaking the current bad combat design
