Oh, come on.
Really?
Again, double post. My apologies
While the idea of a "hardcore" means to obtain certain items is nice, it's not exactly plausible.
Someone brought up earlier the relic/mythic thing and the length of time it took to complete these tasks. Something like is along the lines of hardcore finish fast, casuals take forever. It's the same goal, same weapon, same results once you've got it, but the method to obtain it is different between the playstyles. This is fairly representative of token systems in mmos and imo is something SE should think about to give the hardcores some kind of long-term goals.
And that's it when it comes to these dev comments. There aren't really any long-term goals in this game. Everything is short-term right now and it kinda sucks. There's no longevity to the content currently and the game is going through these waves of being busy for a month after patch then dying until the next big thing. Maybe that's OK for an older, deeper game, but not this one.
Even as an avid DKP enthusiast, I completely agree.
Even back then when I had the ability to play "hardcore" I spent well over a year building a relic. That, even for me, in retrospect seems absolutely absurd. But the feeling of achievement when I finally triple proc'd on SL was a wonderful day in the world of video games.
But I will admit to a lack of open-mindedness in terms of examining other viable forms of loot distribution. I have read your posts and you bring some very good points to the table. But as you said in the above post, regardless of the implementation of any given system, this game really does not have the depth to make said system have any valid use, yet.
The important distinction being normal players can (and have) worked toward completing relics over long periods of time, that's not something you can do with a ridill or a dring.
They were not excluded from the content for not being "hardcore", it was simply gradually worked toward over a longer period of time.

Most of it is already known but least it's out.
Few popped up today:
Thread: Request to Eliminate or Reduce Party Requirements
On Moogle Weapons:As we move forward, we'll be looking into implementing both a level sync system and easing up on the level restrictions on instanced raids. Currently however, we don't have any plans to ease up on these restrictions, but we'll be sure to take feedback like this into account as we make adjustments.
On a commission system, player created leves:I know many of you are asking if the new weapons will make Moogle noises. A little chocobo told me that they will make a "Kupo" sound when you draw your weapon!
He also informed me that these weapons will be around the same strength as Ifrit weapons since many of you were asking this question as well.
Hey guys! We delivered your suggestion to the dev. team and they wanted us to pass along their response to you! "Thank you for the suggestion! We'll add this to our list of things to look into for 2.0."
Of course there are no promises that this will be implemented, but we do appreciate your continued feedback and suggestions!
So is there really now new indication of when 1.20 is coming out? Since last letter I mean.
I'd bet on next week considering they showed Ifrit weapons 2 weeks out from the patch considering moogle was last week.
You'd think it would be announced by now if it were next week.
They said it was pushed back about 10 days. Since it was supposed to be late Nov/early Dec that would probably put it between Dec 10th~20th.
Who cares when the patch is? people will be bored of it a week after its release.
Yeah... but we're bored NOW. Needs more immediate gratification.
Considering the moogle thing is the only actual content coming with the patch, it shouldn't even take that long.
Achievement system is coming this patch, so depending on how worthwhile those are it may keep us occupied for a bit.
If we even begin to entertain the idea that an achievement system is in any way content, then God help us.
God help us all...
Not to mention the new loot system means we won't have to spend the same amount of time with Moogle fight as we did with Ifrit to get the weapons we want.
1.21 seems so far away..
Feel like I missed something, when did they mention any change to the loot system for 1.20?
On top of the current system for weapons (random from chest, can't be passed), they're adding a token that randomly drops to a party member's loot-list (it can be passed to others). You then trade the token to an NPC to get the weapon of your choice.
