Lol @ achievements for content. I'm going to laugh when one is something like "Kill 3500 x mobs at x location" and it just so happens to be a popular place where people exp at and you have tards there all day long.
Possible chance on a new class? Bayhone made a post asking for our feedback on what class we want. The choices are:
1. Scout (Theif) class
2. Magic class
3. Pet class
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...380#post470380
Magic class obviously. I'm still trying to get over the fact they're removing sacrifice from thm. When I first saw that both magic classes got a cure type spell I was so happy. No XI situations where (pre 40/50) you sit together with a full party ready to xp shouting for a whm or hoping one pops up so you can actually play. Now we're heading right back there in XIV where cnj is the only class that has cure. I don't see why they couldn't have just left the cures how they are but given whm aoe cure and taken sacrifice away from blms. We seriously need another magic class that can heal.
Haha, more TH in the game? At least its a choice this time, instead of them just dumping it into the game.
Polling for next class seems good in concept but bad in practice since the game needs more casters and its likely thief would win. Doesn't help archanist and musketeer still up in the air indefinitely perhaps least archanist should be added before polled classes. Where they would place guilds for new classes should they be released before 2.0 even tho guilds dont even really mean anything besides job quests start here.
As for cures everyone gets cure, bloodbath/second wind but will that really enough post update for healing or will parties need to lean on conj/whm alot.
Or he's going to let the fanbase walk all over him. Time will tell.
Seriously, why are people getting a boner over a pet class?
Because the non-FFXI ones are actually pretty fun.
Hoping he adds a mage anyways.
This game needs a mage class far more than it needs the other two. I'd personally rank a scout class behind mage though, so long as it had somewhat mobile and interesting fight mechanics.
But... but... class identity and uniqueness!
Healing on 1.20 THM (compared to 1.19) will basically be the equivalent of going from 75RDM/WHM to 75BLM/WHM (especially since THM is losing Siphon MP/Exaltation and their replacement MP management abilities are for attack magic only). The game will be hardcore bottlenecked at CNJ for everything.
The problem should be fixed when BLM is introduced (with Convert)... but that's presuming that jobs are even capable of equipping cross-class traits, which is far from guaranteed.
BST would make alot of people happy, but I can't deny the fact that this game needs more Mages :/
BST was great back in ffxi, would love to see it come back around in XIV
I want Time Mage so bad D:
I'm hoping that in the not-too-distant future (so 2.0 earliest) we might get alternative jobs for the available classes (we know they're coming eventually) so that CNJ can buff or nuke or enfeeb and THM can heal. Would be nice if MRD and PGL got tanking jobs and LNC got a support job of some variety.
Not really. The difference would be that we're getting specialised versions of current classes in the form of jobs. Conjurer can nuke and heal right now but will specialise in healing. Getting an additional job that specialises in nuking but doesn't have the same healing skills WHM acquires?
Sort of like talent specialisations in other games, really.
Edit: And as I said before, we know they're adding these eventually, it's more a case of when. I'm hoping sooner rather than later for ease of access to different roles.
