Or hell, at least avoiding sound detection while riding (though that wouldn't make much sense). The only reason I want this is that I noticed walking while on chocoback does not stop sound detection.

I need only point to outdoor beastmen strongholds to indicate why a no-aggro-at-all mount would be broken. More than half the challenge of solo/lowmanning those is all the aggro you run across just trying to get to your destination.
I think so, provided they're outdoors, but it's been a while since I've done anything like that so I could be wrong. Aye, I thought about the doormen, but bypassing all the crap in between is still a huge advantage.
This fondly reminds me of the Mandragora adventures quest (Babban Ny Mheillea / Babban's Traveling Companion) in XI:WotG where you befriend a Goobbue and go to Sky.
Mount to avoid mobs is a rather absurd idea. If there was some limiting factor like "reduces chance of encounter" (vague SE type description) and what it really did was narrow the level range mobs aggro'd you while riding it, I could accept that.
Being able to truck through areas with level 90+ mobs without harm doesn't seem in the cards, realistically speaking.
The UI / game engine / content finder / all of the other stuff that's planned for 2.0 is nice and all but the "large scale raid on the crystal tower" is going to have to be epic as all hell and very difficult if this game is going anywhere. I think the most important thing for SE can really do though to really increase the playerbase is to utilize the cross server content finder they have planned to help players level up through their 8 man raids and add alot of them for each level range, i'm not done yet! Here's the kicker, there can be a full loot tables in these dungeons to actually help people obtain quality gear to make the leveling process a little more pleasant. There's many problems with crafted gear being pretty much the only options for new players who won't really have that much gil when they first start out and they'll end up quitting because it is to difficult and inconvenient to get their foot planted firmly in the ground.
Cross server content finder is a really bad idea, I kinda hope they don't do it, it really fucked WoW up. Server communities went out the window, Looking for raid is a disaster with all kind of people rolling on loot they don't need and they use it as bargin chips for loot they want. The community got a whole lot worse since its more than likely you'll never run into the same person again after a queue ends.
It sounds fantastic on paper but it presents some bad community problems down the line. If you want community to matter then you better hope this doesn't make it. I think it single handily ruined the WoW community beyond all repair.
I agree, I seriously hope that there are equal opportunities and even incentives to work with other people on your server. E.g. Getting an xp/rep bonus for each person from your own server or something that trades off convenience for effectiveness. I'm hoping the PvP zone is going to be actual WPvP, as in you zone in by travelling to it rather than it being a queue based BG.
Other than that, they *really* need to work on building up open world content. It disturbs me that Yoshida keeps talking about a 'theme-park MMO' style, that's a generation old and even games like WoW are trying to drop it and bring life back to the world. Hamlet defence isnt enough, they need loads of repeatable event-style content in the world in my opinion, and not just 'travel to x and kill y' in a "spontaneous" format, it needs to have fun things on a par with GW2's events even if they don't have extensive chaining and all that extra stuff GW2 has.
GW2's events + FF's art style and throwbacks with classic raids and a good story would pretty much be my ideal outcome, I don't think I'll even play if it's a 'stand-in-city-and-queue' style of game.
Whoa, Whoa, Grey. SE's gotta capture that "FF Feeling~!!"
I feel a song coming on.
