They're probably not up at the moment, however. If the fireworks are all you need in order to get the Lodestone achievement, you can probably find them for cheap in the wards (Chirugeons >> Raegent) because they were up for such a long period of time yesterday.

Your mount should never completely nix aggro. XI's chocobos were stupid like that imo.

Yep! I NEVER made any supporting arguments. In fact I never posted any of the things below to support my claim whatsoever:

Mount to avoid mobs is a rather absurd idea. If there was some limiting factor like "reduces chance of encounter" (vague SE type description) and what it really did was narrow the level range mobs aggro'd you while riding it, I could accept that.

Being able to truck through areas with level 90+ mobs without harm doesn't seem in the cards, realistically speaking.

That aside, they've made a lot of really bad decisions in this game and we all know that. Are we back to white knighting them just for the sake of the "Final Fantasy" name? There are certain standards we come to expect from these types of games, and also certain mechanics that belong and don't belong (for various reasons, one of which includes the results of said mechanics being used in other games).

For whatever reason, XI had aggro-less mounts. Why? Who knows, but that was their game design. It made 0 sense. Other games don't do that because it is part of their game design. As 2.0 approaches, we see SE moving closer to the design of "other games" (ie. Not FFXI), and I have a hunch that aggro-free mounts will also "not work" in their new game.

I am against that concept, and others are for it. Too often people support SE's ideas because they only played FFXI for any serious amount of time. That does not entitle you to having a good opinion, just an opinion, period. Opinions, bellybuttons, etc. anyway. You wouldn't say you had the best keyboard on the market just because you happen to like it more than others. You'd only have the best keyboard on the market if it's been shown to be the best for a multitude of reasons (and even then, you could still hate how it feels). It's the same with MMOs.

What was the entire counter-argument against that? Aggro-less mounts existed in FF 2-13 I think was the only one.

If someone said those two sentences aloud to me, I would assume the 'imo' applies to the whole thing. Who knows, perhaps that's just my opinion on the English language.

No one want to make this argument because it's fucking retarded to talk about the fauna's behavior when it makes no fucking sense to begin with. You're nitpicking something completely trivial when there is far more important issues in the lore related to aggro mechanics.

And if we really want to argue about stupid shit, how often do you see monsters attack each others? One could think that riding a giant goobbue could give you some protection because it's massive size scare the shit of the smaller monsters. I mean, it's not like the lv 90 wolves know your level. They can't see your HP bar and level in this "immersive world" of your.

The whole thing is an opinion. This is really strawman of you to even try and say. Everything someone says is an opinion unless backed up. Furthermore, when I alluded to the experience in other games, I was referring to other games I also believe are "something worthwhile" to try out (which I made mentioned of here).
