The only actual reason for crafting right now is so you don't have to rely on those who do.
True but what else is there to do? I was done with Ifrit back in early November and even when doing it I still had plenty free time which resulted in crafting/fishing leves for classes I'd never really play. I'd have probably stopped playing if I didn't keep crafting. Star Wars killed my LS so patch 1.20 has been a lost one for me. 1.21 is looking that way too, which is why I want SE to hurry the fuck up with that merger.
FFXIII-2 is released in the UK on Friday so I'll probably not play XIV for a while. That is going to take priority over cooking leves. Thank god for the 99 leve cap.
Well it looks like 1.21 is gonna have quite a bit of content so they may want to see if some people come back first.
Cant wait for the info.
Now letter is up someone past this shit, I dont know how to copy the chart thing
ahhhh fuck, 1.21 pushed to end of February, not like I dint see that coming
I thought that's when it was scheduled anyways?
No merger before 1.21? That's disappointing. Really regretting purchasing a six month subscription. By the time I get to do those dungeons there will be a set formula for guaranteed wins and there's no fun in that.
Some of this may be repeats, but I don't think they are. I apologize if it is. Reinheart, etc.

Regarding the jobs specific equipments, these will be gained through lvl45+ quests. These will be obtained for sure at the end of those quests (poeple were wondering if there would be a drop rate like primal weapons), and there is currently no plan to add crafted jobs specific equipments.
There will be more info coming this month !

Good evening,
Going to answer some of the questions asked about the mount
For Chocobo armor it will be through company seals.Originally Posted by Marigolds
For Chocobo accessories, are they obtained through company seals or are there some crafters can make?
You cannot craft them.
You cannot dye themOriginally Posted by Marigolds
Can the equipment be dyed?
Currently there are no merit.Originally Posted by Marigolds
Is there some kind of merit for equipping the accessories? like even if you get hit it gets harder to become maim (? dunno English version name one where Chocobo slows down)
With 2.0 when you're able to fight together with the Chocobo we are planning to add parameters to the armor.
We currently don't know yet if the armors released now will have parameters once it becomes 2.0 or if only those armors in 2.0 will have parameters.
Currently, there are no plans for thisOriginally Posted by Marigolds
Can Gobbue also wear accessories?
First off you will will be able to give simple commands.Originally Posted by Marigolds
In 2.0 you can fight together but does the AI fight automatically? Or can you give some kind of commands?
Later we have an idea of system like FFXII's gambit system.

For owned mounts we have no plans for those which 2-3 people can ride together but we are looking into rides which you can do this.Originally Posted by Mariqua
Wondering if there are plans for rides which 2-3 people can ride together.
Kind of like a carriage or regular Chocobo but with 2 people riding, would be fun if few members can ride together to travel.
About the next Live Letter:
Good evening,
Sorry but we don't have any plans before patch 1.21 but we would like to do this for sure!Originally Posted by syakebentou

Yes, at that time we would like to give out new information regarding 2.0Originally Posted by Komomo

Can't wait for that Live letter then. More info on 2.0 is surely nice and hopefully footage too.

System
[dev1300] The item search feature now allows players to distinguish HQ and materia-enhanced items.
Search results will now display HQ designations and the number of materia attached to an item. Further details such as materia type and attributes can be viewed by placing the cursor over the item.
* The difference in attributes between equipped gear and examined gear will not be displayed.

Resolved Issues
The following known issues have been addressed:
An issue wherein the BGM for the Good King Moggle Mog XII battle occasionally did not play back as intended.
An issue wherein the synthesis ability Hasty Hand was being displayed in a fixed position.
Known Issues
An issue with the item search function wherein help text for a piece of materia would show its lowest rather than actual attribute values.
An issue with the item search function wherein materia values for gear with more than one of the same materia are displayed independently rather than totaled.
Awesome, now I can actually sell Materia'd gear without it seeming like I just price my shit high for no reason.
Unless there are 20+ NQs up for sale.
I hope in 2.0 we can view everything for sale; just give me a damn scrollbar or a "view next 20 entries" button.
Does this mean if the materia socketed is still going to show up wrong? An issue with the item search function wherein help text for a piece of materia would show its lowest rather than actual attribute values.
I hope this means I can put it back at the bottom of my abilities listAn issue wherein the synthesis ability Hasty Hand was being displayed in a fixed position.
FFXII gambit system for NPC sounded so hot.
I'm kinda a curious of what all is going to be available in 2.0 from the start, so, yoshida blows up the world with meteor and gives us respectable zone sizes, then what? I wonder if there is going to have a content overload, crazy amounts of quests etc.
I'm curious as to how much of that stuff in the manifest is going to make it in. I bet everything listed would be pretty unrealistic to assume it would be there from day 1 of 2.0 going live.
Everyday he allows the repair system to exist is a disappointment!
No but seriously, he is doing fairly well imo. I too feel that it is more important that every class being useful in all/most events is more important than just throwing them into the game, making large-scale content, or whatever. It would be right up there, for me, with what I said earlier about the depth of the content. It is difficult to have intricate battles without greater job synergy. It's not that hard to conceptualize either and yet it is something that we seem to be moving farther from. The combo system is nice and all, but it's no battle regimen (where at least there was some sort of party communication happening). I feel like jobs should do what is done in other mmos and grant a unique raid-wide buff that isn't stackable if you bring more than one of a certain class. They could either fill in gaps to help other jobs or simply promote their own class uniqueness. For example WAR getting a raid-wide buff that gives all players +5% attack bonus (strength of the class), or one that reduces TP costs by 10% for the entire raid.
That's really the one thing I wanna see brought back--teamwork. It's one thing to use meta-game tools to make your group "better" (teamspeak, forums, strategy videos) and quite another to promote real in-game group synergy that makes us want to differentiate our party setups a bit. Old hat by now, I know, but I wanna see how Yoshi tackles that.
