Wasn't that the main plot point of Spirits Within, too?
Wasn't that the main plot point of Spirits Within, too?
Well, no shit... but there's a 'meteor' coming at the planet right now. Some sinister plot involving dropping a controllable meteor onto a planet for X reason(s) and a world with lifestream like energy and blah blah blah is a lot more akin to FF7 than anything else so of course there will be posts such as these.
Isn't there weird buildings near Blue Fog that look strangely like mako reactors? They haven't even been explained in the lore yet as far as I know.
i thought they had something to do with magitek? i thought it was mentioned offhandedly in some quest what they were at least
We'll be able to rewatch cutscenes "soon" so that'll be nice for going back and looking at stuff.
Its not a meteor.. its a MOON! much more similar to FF8 or FFIV which both had evil moons... Or FFVI, a giant floating island is more similar to a moon than a meteor is?
Its a trope anyway you look at it... XD
Yet... Cid refers to it as "Meteor"
Regardless, a meteor is significantly different than a moon. One is an irregular shaped hunk of rock flying through space and the other is a celestial satellite. Dalamud is like a sub-satellite since it's stuck in the moon's orbit. We can conjecture that Dalamud is a meteor that became stuck in orbit / was forced into orbit of the moon, and the Garleans are trying to dislodge it from orbit and pull it down to the planet.
Also, there is meteor the spell and meteor the object. We don't know where the story is drawing the line yet in regards to that. For all we know "Meteor" is just the Garlean's project code-name for dislodging/pulling down Dalamud.
Are you guys seriously debating over this? lol
Would "Lunar Cry" have been more appropriate?
It's the "Meteor project", not just "Meteor" (though it has been mentioned on some occasions shortened to just "Meteor"). It's not referring to the object itself, but instead the project of turning a moon into a object to slam into a planet, thus a meteor.
If you have better naming suggestions, be sure to visit your nearby Garlean suggestion box.
Technically they'd be turning it into a meteorite. I'm going to write SE a letter.
Tiny bit of Inn-fo...
Will there be different layouts in different cities? Will players be able to choose specific layouts that they prefer?
There will be decorated layouts that are designed specifically for each city-state's inn, but players won't be able choose Gridania's decorations while residing in Ul'dah's inn for example. Each layout will only be available within the city-state that they are from.
Will players be able to interact with furniture? (Beds, chairs, etc.)
Yup! The proof is in the banner too! You'll be able to sit down on the bed if you feel like relaxing.
Will there be a retainer bell inside and will we be able to invite other players into our inn?
Retainers and other players won't be able to enter the inns.
Dalamud is the 'moon'
Meteor is the name of the project/magic/allaghan shit to slam Dalamud into Eorzea (specifically that region of Hydaelyn or whatever the fuck it's spelled like)
Monsters are probably from Dalamud
Dalamud is probably (I think it might have been hinted to be?) a construct of the Allaghan Empire
You can spearfish Allaghan snails
Therefore the final boss the Umbral Era shit will be a giant snail with a Dalamud shell
This snail will be known as Garlemand's eikon; it will be overwhelmed by Eorzea's primals
The Black Wolf / Darth Vader guy will take over Darnassus' place and lead the fight for what looks like Thanalan
Raubahn will get stabbed in the eye and become a Blue Mage; soon players will be allowed to become a Blue Mage (it evolves from Gladiator, obvi)
Draylo will be denied Blue Mage as participating in the Umbral Era events will be a prerequisite
When 2.0 fails, there will be an Astral Era event to herald in 3.0
There will be a battle with the Twelve and win then we'll get transported to an alternate dimension where the Twelve have fused into one supreme being
We obviously defeat this supreme being but no one notices
Eighth? Astral Era
The Garlaen Emperor summons the Dalamud Snail again
Ishgard and Sharalya (or w/e) are finally unlocked and participate in the fight this time
Adventurers + 5 city states push Garlaen Empire back to wherever the fuck they're from and liberate Ala Mhigo
Adventurers may never enter Ala Mhigo proper, only the safehold constructed during the Garlaen Occupation by Ala Mhigan Patriots
A new ferry route will open
