If you're not having enmity issues on BLM, you're doing something wrong.
If you're not having enmity issues on BLM, you're doing something wrong.
You don't "need" anything on any class. No one is forcing people to have certain skills in endgame or have certain classes available.
If the game had locked classes you wouldn't even have these abilities so having the "option" to actually get and use them isn't bad by any means.
If you feel forced to get something it's simply because it's a good ability and you think it'll improve your performance on a particular class/job.
The only thing I'd say is almost a requirement is some form of healing ability and that's available as soon as you equip a CNJ's arm.
Chameleon surely needs to have its level lowered but it's far from required or a must for any BLM.
I find PLing at common exp camps an extrodinarily rude thing to do. If you're going to mass killing like that, at least do it in a discreet location so you aren't messing with people who want to level appropriately. I'm glad my friend and I actually put some effort into exploring since we ended up finding really good camps that never had competition.
ftfy, between chameleon, freeze, and quelling strike (w/e the other archer ability is) a BLM should never be more than green. I have only gone BLM for helping friends on ifrit and also Arum Vale, but in ifrit i parse 4k over 2nd DD and in Aurum (coincounter at least) pretty high as well. I never stay yellow for long if I even hit it.
Although I feel silly tossing out freeze on ifrit for 200 dmg, it still beats having to dodge cracks.
They're called "nerve drops."
If someone sells them with any regularity on your server, good for you.
Here they don't.
They are an extremely handy item tho.
Apologize if any of these have been posted, but I hadn't seen anyone post any of them.
We know that trying to take choreographed screen shots can be a difficult process most of the time, so we will be implementing a countdown timer that will make an appearance in patch 1.21a!
By entering the text command “/countdown(/count),” the number (between 1 and 20) chosen in the subcommand will appear on your player character and a countdown will begin. After 1, “Go(not yet finalized)” will be displayed.
Here is what the countdown will look like:

This number can be seen by other players, but will not appear in screen shots, so please utilize this function when capturing choreographed screen shots!
Keep up with the amazing screen shots! We know that map markers are very useful and many players would like to have them so we are planning on introducing map markers in version 2.0 after the maps and servers have been revamped.Changes to subtarget.
Hey everyone!
Based on the feedback we’ve been receiving, will be looking into the following targeting changes to subtarget:
Defeated opponents cannot be targeted, regardless of whether subtarget is ON or OFF.
Defeated party members can be targeted, even if subtarget is OFF.
Please feel free to discuss these changes in this thread!Good morning everyone!
I'd like to just give a quick update and let you know the targeting changes for subtarget that was mentioned in the original post will be implemented in 1.21a.
We will continue to submit your feedback about other changes that you would like for subtarget as well. Thank you so much for taking the time to give us your suggestions!Hey guys! I wanted to give you some information about The Keeper's Hymn so that you know a little bit more about them before making any drastic decisions.
Currently the only way to obtain The Keeper’s Hymn is through quests and we have no plans at the moment to increase the methods of obtaining them. In patch 1.21a, we will be making it possible to reset your attribute point allotment for classes by exchanging The Keeper’s Hymn to guild token exchange NPCs located at each guild. However, as mentioned above, the methods for obtaining these items are limited so please use them wisely. We were aiming to implement the name plate display ON/OFF setting in patch 1.21, however, there were a lot of other items that were prioritized, such as UI changes for the job system, so we needed to push it back a little. Currently we are planning to implement this in patch 1.22, but since there are important tasks like Hamlet Defense, we cannot promise for sure that we will get this into the game in 1.22 but we'll try our best!Originally Posted by Rukkirii
I know we discussed this awhile back when the dev. team was looking into it, as well as taking in player feedback for what they’d like to toggle, but we finally got an update on the situation! The following options are aimed at implementation in patch 1.21.
The ON/OFF display feature won’t only apply to your own name. You will be able to set ON/OFF values for displaying each of the following categories:
Your own character
Name/Icon
HP Bar
Party Members
Name/Icon
HP Bar
Other Players
Name/Icon
HP Bar
NPC
Name/Icon
Enemies
Name
HP Bar
Level
Enemy Icon
Enmity
It’s currently not possible to toggle the linkshell and bazaar icons independent of your name in this feature (for example, leave name displayed, but hide linkshell/bazaar). We will look into including this functionality in version 2.0.Looking through the translation threads, but everything important seems to have been translated by the EN community team.We were able to convince Yoshida to give us more information about the free company summoned primals for you guys to help clear up some of your concerns that were brought up in this thread.
For those of you worried if all the primals can be collected and sold or traded for a large amount of gil, it will not be possible to do this.
There will also be a timer that starts once a free company obtains a primal, so if this expires before the primal is summoned, the free company will lose their power to summon them. This will prevent players from holding primals for a long time.
Free company leaders will get to decide if anyone in the company can summon them or if only the leader will have this power.
We also asked if Yoshida could give us any extra information about these primals and he let us know that it will be possible to summon primals for PvP.
Uh, unless they have changed, the loss of 190 enmity isn't worth an inventory space. I feel like I could sneeze and do 190 enmity. I'll keep my Mega-Ethers, thanks (I'm assuming they share the same timer).
...or did they increase the potency of them in 1.21 and/or Kaeko's testing got it wrong?
it's -80 enmity for 1min.
Not really. Like Cooleko said with those 3 abilities you shouldnt have much hate at all. I can go all out on anything now and now worry about hate. As long as I am in the yellow I am good. Go i guess if you are having enmity issues on blm, you're doing something very wrong or your tank sucks.
Resetting stat allocation, a capability that has existed since before launch and in it's current iteration has limited usefulness and no potential for abuse...

I couldn't care less how they limit physical stat allocation, but did they really have to make it take up an inventory space?
(Before someone asks what in the world I'm filling up all my slots with, it's items I'm waiting to turn into provisioning missions for seals)
Few new things I'll post before I head out for lunch. From Reinheart's thread.

I just commented earlier in this thread (links to Paladin thread0 but in patch 1.21a we are planning to make adjustments focusing on Paladin's actions. However this isn't it for the adjustments and we continue making changes to each jobs so please leave a feedback from each jobs point of view as it will help us as reference.
If the discussion is going to be big would appreciate if you could separate the threads. Those are some of the shittiest translations I've ever seen from that guy. Still understandable though, I guess.
New letter with 2.0 information...
