Is Uematsu still doing the music for this game, or did he bail?
I've been trying to figure that out with no avail. The music team's blog mentions nothing of him whatsoever, so I'm working on the assumption that he only did the original score and bounced.
Those tracks are fantastic.. the music folks have really stepped up their game. Whether Uematsu is still with working on this or not, what's coming out is leaps and bounds better than the original score.
oh wow nice tracks and I'm not much of a fan of bgm.
ooh some of the new music is really good..
things are beginning to heat up..
i'm curious about composer credits as well.
I was kinda disappointed with FFXIV's main theme anyway. Yeah, most of it is good, but when it gets to the electric guitar and gets all power ballady for what was supposed to be an aria of the Gods, it kinda ruins the tone.
Whatever piece that is sampled at about the 50% mark is 'omg' good. It sounds completely appropriate for the final storyline battle with whatever Garlean Legatus at the end of the pre-2.0 Meteor catastrophe (I'm assuming Nael van Darnus).
Seems like DoH and DoL "AF" is coming in 1.22a.
Hey whoa now, you can't just drop a bomb like that and not post a source
Oh, I see it now.

I missed the lure in there when I first saw it.
omg yes
boner.
Also, where was this spotted?
In the Gameplay section on Officail IIRC. Bayhone made a topic called "More hats? More hats."
That'd be nice if there were DoL AF, but I also remember a dev response many months ago that they'd put in more fishing hats in response to player feedback about there being none that were higher level.

It's pretty vague and that's all there is to see.
I wish the intro dudes would stop speaking like retarded people with food in their mouths (verbal slur). That would improve things for me. I didn't realize they were even speaking English until I looked up the lyrics. It's probably because they're JP singers and they don't have a fucking clue what they're saying, but sheesh.
hmm the Distant Worlds version is probably the best one I've heard. I agree. It can do without the electric guitars..
But hey that was part of the alpha ost rip and has yet to make an appearance within the game itself right? its entirely possible that it wasnt the final arrangement. (they're already done alternate arrangements for 2 songs in the alpha rip before)..
On that note, for an overarching theme of the game, I haven't heard any 'derivative tracks' in the OST yet. as in, tracks that use the same core melody or signature riff from Answers...
hate to compare but Memoro de la Stono was everywhere in FFXI, and so was the melody of Distant Worlds, well before the vocal track was released... it definitely helped to build up emotional attachment to the song. i tend to tear up when i hear it in sad cutscenes lol
