At first I was kinda iffy about Yoshida giving 'so much' weight to events like this... but I don't think I mind seeing more stuff like this in the future .

The game is never going to change as much as it will in the coming months, whatever that means.. so make it matter.

Wait it wasn't just me? I was walking from Gridania to Uldah yesterday and noticed the music stopped playing when I reached Thanalan. Thought it might have been a bug since the music started playing again once I entered Uldah.
Kept thinking it was eery walking without music...

Nope same here, Music is off outside of Uldah on my server but the music is still playing inside of Uldah

Lauda: I hear the Empire is planning their own assault on the primals- or "eikons," I think they call them- because they believe the creatures to be nothing more than lesser demons posing as false gods.

Afaik the deaspected crystals are wanted by the beast tribes (and Primals)?

Not too surprisingly, beast tribes should be making an appearance in 1.18:

So is it so much about us vs. garleans.. or garleans vs. the primals? Or all three against each other :D

One of the story quests in the 30s is you going down to the whatever tribe and trying to get to beastmen to ally with you against the garleans. They sic Ifrit on you. So, likely the latter.

I wonder if the primals will cause the start of the umbral era and the reshaping of the world?

The Sylphs make it sound like the true danger are the primals, and that the Empire is a lesser evil compared to them, which is why they're unwilling to counter-attack by summoning their own primal when the Garleans attack the Grove.

If I were to guess, it's either going to be everyone vs. everyone or beast tribes against our city states while the Empire patiently waits to deal the finishing blow on whichever side comes out victorious (and weakened). The Empire has been trying pretty hard to get the city-states to hate the tribes, which makes me think they're trying to use us as the cannon fodder in this war. Also, as Celeras mentioned, in one of the missions, one of the eikons makes it pretty clear that they aren't friendly towards our kind, and our cities will be closest thing to them when they are fully summoned... so it doesn't seem like our cities will ally with the beastmen.

Since the beast tribes come first and Ishgard later it may be that the Wyrmking is actually Bahamut (Primal) and may be the Empire's primary target, as well as ours. Ifrit, Garuda, Titan and Leviathan would be the lesser demons.

Will be interesting how this event plays out and the continuation of the main scenario in the future.

Music is back outside Uldah

Considering that the Garleans call the Primals "Eikons" (fake gods), I'm thinking that they don't actually want them summoned and that it's insinuating that the beast tribes should know better than to worship them. However, the beast tribes are hasty, stupid, and think everyone is out to get them and that summoning their Primal is the only way to protect themselves from the Garleans. The Sylphs are aware of the uncontrollable destruction that the Primals represent and are the only(?) beast tribe that knows better than to and, so far, resisted summoning their Primal right off the bat as they are well aware that the people of Limsa Lominsa/Ul'dah/Gridania are worthy of allying with before taking such drastic, last-ditch actions. The others cannot be reasoned with and will fuck us all over with their reckless use of WMDs.

Then, you got those awesome Corse-lookin' dudes. I haven't hit 40 yet, so I don't know if they come back into the picture or not. Their existence was made to be pretty important/intimidating/etc. Especially that you were able to see it.

Hopefully that's the only job they won't add, instead Raubahn will be there as an NPC with his Tizona and shows up kicking ass at every turn.

What were the Archons implied to be? I feel like I got the notion that they were mortals chosen by the Twelve, one by each. Like 12 champions representing the 12 gods.

Theyre in one CS for about 6 seconds, and scare away all the beastmen. We dont know yet.
