I fully expect SE to try to take the easy way out and tell people to deal with it. I do not expect the playerbase to bend over and take it or say that its somehow justified. God these fucking people annoy the shit outta me. lol

This is what non-XI fans have been saying for years. Yes, you have them in every game. Even fucking Age of Conan and Darkfall Online has them, but Jesus, those games at least made some money. Most of this has to come simply from the fact that SE is a long-established company, with a slew of commercial successes that succeeded in hitting the 12-year-olds at just the right time of their lives (I'm lookin' at YOU, FFVII; God love it) to effectively steal their video game virginity, and as a result, they're convinced that SE is their gaming soulmate.

Its a little creepy at this point. Nothing is perfect; no marriage, and certainly no freakin' MMO. Change is good.

I think you guys are suffering from disillusionment. They've been churning out improvements to things complained about every month this year. You guys are just as bad as the rabid fans on the lodeston, just you're the other side of the spectrum (despondent cynics). And just as annoying and harmful.

i guess i just have a more realistic view of things. i am not expecting miracle patches and i am not giving ultimatums for them. and neither am i going to dogmatically defend the game as it is now.

Oh I never said they weren't improving things. I said they're having problems improving the most basic things in today's standard MMO, which is absolutely true. Mailboxes, toggle-able UI controls and options, drop-down party support, mid-battle party options, ect. These are the bread and butter of the basic MMO today and SE is releasing statements that would make the average player think that these are impossible concepts.

Its not that you aren't thinking realistic, its that you think we aren't either, when we are. There is no miracle patch. We all knew this going into the first week of retail when we saw the same game that we played in alpha and beta. You think we're far away from you when we are not. I choose not to play until the game is up to my standards. That does not mean that I don't and won't follow the progression of the game. Hell, I haven't played WoW in 2 years and I still follow the progression, because I like to see how the games age as the years roll on.

Don't make it such a black-and-white issue. You sound immature when you pull the "people that criticize suck" card. SE has no problem with taking the criticism, and you shouldn't either.

I know that the disconnection/re-joining party issue was a concern here, so I made sure to follow up with the development team and seek a comment. They said that they would like to do something in the event that a player is disconnected due to an error and would like to re-join the party, and are looking into adding a mechanism to address this.

Bayohne is on a roll today.

Checked with the development team and wanted to report back. While the "controller"-type settings have seen changes and updates as of late, you can rest assured that we will be making adjustments so that keyboards will also be customizable in the future. We'll be performing UI-related fixes and updates tied to the new battle system adjustments, so at that time we would like to implement this.

What have we here....?

Any word on when we will hear from the battle team?

I believe there is something in the works in that regard, but not sure of the timing yet. I'll try and found out more details!
