1 gathered item = 100 pts (HQ 1k), have to be turned in 10 at a time

Crafted route is much more efficient since you're not relying on RNG (I spent some time in Nanawa one night out of curiosity and while you may get hamlet items up to 10 at a time the hit rate is quite low).

If anything Hamlet is a great way to get your last crafting achievement tho. Unfortunately doing anything other than the LTW item is going to cost much, much more it only has 1 expensive ingredient while the others have 2.

Getting in the top-3 is completely fucking random.

I dumped about 5 mil into Aleport a week back or so just get in 3rd place... then I kicked myself for not realizing that Aleport might not even hit Lv.2 that time, the total was at about 1,300,000.

About 5 minutes before the attack phase began, a Japanese linkshell showed up, and between about 5 of their members, they dumped about 8,500,000 more points in. My 300,000 points became 6th place and the top 4 places all consisted of about 2~3 mil each.

And after all that bullshit? I couldn't find anyone to even do Aleport that cycle. All the gil down the drain.

That's why you don't drop a bunch of points until there is 1 min left.

I agree with you, it is random. Sometimes 300k is enough, sometimes you need 1m+.

You can still get seals from captain as top 3 if it's level 1.

Content finder should help as far as Hamlet goes. But how will that work? Let's say your server has level 2 hamlet and you are top 20 but the group you join is on another server that has level 1 Hamlet. Will you still be top 20? Will hamlet be lvl 2?

You've said before how rich you are. Get top 3 and be done with it. I've known 2 people who came to the Hamlet scene late who spent the gil (and not THAT much gil at that) to get top 3 and got their hamlet seals done in < 1 week.

You're the only one to blame.

Also, my shell did enough Hamlet runs to get 14 people their seals and the drop rate for 60k+ runs is right around ~50% so get out with your 25% BS. We had 1/10 nights and 9/9 nights.

Hamlet sucks. Not saying it was fun getting 126 seals. But you're sitting on hundreds of millions of gil and have been complaining about this for months.

Well yeah, I've never said it wasn't my fault for just not wanting to play this shitty game. SE should have made hamlet fun so that I would want to play it.

I don't mind paying for it if I have to, but like I say it's better to wait and see what ARR brings at this point. If ARR wasn't round the corner I probably would have paid my way through it by now and forgotten about it. Remember my original moan here was that I don't want to see content like hamlet in ARR because it's not fun at all, rather than the fact I don't have my seals yet.

I can't say I've ever experienced anything near a 50% drop rate, it's more like 15-20% for me but I am just basing this on about 30 60k+ wins. If I thought it was near 50% I'd be joining PUGs for this shit every time I'm on. Bad luck you say? You could well be right, but when you experience shit you have to experience good before you think otherwise.

Also, what miokomioko said. Just because you pour a tonne of gil into it doesn't guarantee you a top 3 spot. At the end of the day there are 3 slots on the entire server and third place is only useful if you're doing it with a PUG since if you're getting help you're likely to get the seals just as quick randomly as the 25% drop rate third gives you.

Image tag searching seems to show it came from the FF25th Anniversary event from the pamphlet that was handed out. Identical image was on 2ch on the 10th of September and the pic was on a blog talking about the event (along with other paraphernalia) on the 4th of September. Famitsu has a little information about the PlayStation 3 version of Final Fantasy XIV. The magazine says Final Fantasy XIV for PS3 will have a menu that’s similar to the XMB menu.

It makes sense that they'd be 1.0 only. All of this current stuff is part of the 7th umbral era event, no? Which won't be happening anymore after 2.0.

That includes Darnus/White Ravens and anything else related, I'd assume.

edit: Then again, I'd say the same for Castrum, and apparently those items will still be there, idk. This cryptic maybe-maybe not-who knows crap is getting old.
