For some reason, I still can't post on OF.. is it because I didn't pay before the servers went down? Aids

What point is there in bumping a thread that has already received a dev response?
So y'know how Yoshi P said "well, if login numbers drop below 30% after servers come back up, we're gonna take them down again"?

OF complaining T minus four days and counting~
Immediately thought of this.

Yoshi is supposed to make a new post soon regarding alpha tests and the direction stuff will take now.
I'm not sure, but I don't think so. I think his post also mentions there will be a Producer Letter in a few days, so I'd bet the roadmap will be included in there.
People on the OF remind me of creepers at the bar. They buy you and yours a round or two and then think they are now owed something more than idle conversation. You can tell the creepers apart because sometime in the near future, be it later that night or a weekend or two down the line, they feel the need to remind you they bought you drinks. SE would've made it plenty fine without that petty pocketchange they got in subscriptions. You shouldve only paid for the game if you enjoyed it. Any other reason you would pay for anything of leisure you don't enjoy you're begging for crushed feelings. No one can live up to the magical expectations you've concocted in your goddamn head.
oh. you mean old servers actually went back up?
That's the best analogy.
Totally agree, ever since the 2.0 announcement on Oct 14th, 2011, I didn't give two fucks of a shit about 1.0. I didn't bother with any content other than a few class quests for BLM, leveling some crafts to 50, I watched everything important over youtube. I got bored with D3 while waiting for patch 1.04 back in August, I decided to sub to 14 and finish off a few things I wanted to get done.
Logging into my LS in 14(very casually) all I saw were these entitled little fucks who thought SE owed them alpha and beta's based on all this "dedication" they showed to 1.0. I remember one guy going off on a rant saying his alpha better be in his mailbox at day 1 invites when the NA's get to do it because he "Deserves it".
Their FATE system sounds like a direct copy-paste from Guild Wars 2 "Dynamic Events", and I can tell you that stuff was good and I liked it. GW2 has also all zones auto-lv-capping you as soon as you enter, but you get to keep all your job traits, gear etc, so all zones remain challenging to a degree, even outside starter cities.
As for how to participate: a NM pops and you get a marker on your map where it is, you can choose to go over and whack at it, or not. Event stuff doesn't aggro, unless you aggro first. Another type of event is escorting a NPC for 5-10min and killing stuff on the way, then some miniboss or so. Another type is, a NPC pops and asks you to bring him stuff from a nearby cave filled with aggresive mobs. You do 5-10 trips over a course of 5-10-15min to fill in the event progress bar and get gil/item/fame rewards afterwards. Events repeat themselves every 15-60min depending on the scale of the event and the number of mobs popping slightly varies depending on how many people joined. Also, if area is level capped, it assures you need to pay attention to win, and can’t AoE Flare lv1mobs in 1 shot.
One thing I liked a lot in GW2 dynamic events was that there was no need to go to city, talk to some random NPC, then go slay stuff, then report back, rinse repeat. You just happen to be gathering/farming/crafting/xping in the zone, stuff pops up, you break your routine of whatever you’re doing if want to, kick some boss ass, get gil and go back to your own business.
Bolded. No one actually knows how this shit will work. It's fun to speculate and have fun little "HAY WHAT IF THIS HAPPENS" talk. When people start gettin' forum mad over others' speculation, that's bothersome.
I hope it's like something you said though. It sounds like a "Sha of Anger" type thing in WoW. It's a world boss that pops every 15~ minutes. If you wanna kill it, team up and do it. If not, just move on by.
The forum locks you out after 30 days, so nothing odd about that.
You don't want to go to the official forums anyway, you just don't.
Am I the only one who doesn't want a invite? I want to be surprised by all the changes when it finally comes out.
