Unfortunately, I don't see any way we can get them. Beta progress won't be carried over and by the time retail comes out, a "New Year's" helm would be... out of place.

If not, you might want to stop injecting your speculations into the wild as fact.

According to the schedule beta phase 4 progress will in fact be carried over being as it's basically the final game, and that's about it.

- Characters created during this phase will be carried over to the official release.
* Circumstance may necessitate the deletion of character data.

So unless something goes wrong, data from that phase should be saved. I'd imagine that if characters prior to this phase are wiped, so will the rest of the data.

If y'all read the timeline they released like 2 weeks ago you'd know that beta phase 4 progress will in fact be carried over being as it's basically the final game, and that's about it.

They did not say "progress". It was left as an open-ended statement for a reason. No one knows what they'll be transferring over. It might be ALL THE DATAS! It might just be that they'll transfer over the characters people created at level 1 so people can feel "attached" to their characters.

Given that according to the revised roadmap, the absolute earliest Phase 4 would start is 7 weeks after mid-Feb (i.e. early April), I think it's fair to say that a New Year's event in early April would be... out of place.

the year of the snake does run for a year.. they could introduce a seasonal event that would exceptionally run for the whole year or something
