It outright states that if you're Legacy you don't need to apply so don't do it unless you wanna test for PS3.
I don't even remember if I used my code from XIII but I honestly don't really care at this point considering I'll be on PC anyway. If I get into the PS3 beta as well good but I don't see it as a priority (and my HDD is crying right now thanks to PS+ <_<).

Nope XD Beta doesn't start until end of this month/start of Feb.

It's my understanding that Alpha testers don't get carried over automatically. I believe there was an uproar over that on the Alpha forums.

Users who applied for the alpha test are not required to reapply for the beta test. However, participation in the alpha test does not guarantee selection for the beta test. Please note that you must submit a new application if you wish to apply for testing the PlayStation 3 version.

You don't need to reapply to qualify, but you don't automatically get selected for the beta, either.

It's entirely possible the snakes helm could be a beta tester reward that gets attached to your account for retrieval at launch.

I also don't think it's entirely impossible for there to be a vague re-launch "holiday" event (perhaps involving the baby behemoth) that awards the helm. Regardless of it being a few months late, it's still going to be the year of the snake. I don't think they would make a point to tease it if it wasn't going to exist.
