I think all of 1.0 constituted as fail so it would have been kind of redundant.

Man I really hope this game takes off and becomes the time sink I am looking for after my 11 character got banned. I enjoyed 1.0 but I only played it during the "better days" from June till shutdown. I loved the threads listed above, my favorite being the dorp threads, I could always marvel at the dorps I never got. The unclaimed NM thread was pretty awesome back in the day too.

FFXIII product registration stuff

I still have mine (still can't believe I spent $60 on that thing, ugh) and entered it in my beta app, but just thought I'd throw it out there that the code they ask for is 4 letters/numbers x 4 (so 16 alphanumerics). I registered mine way back when and still have the 20 letter/number code as a result of registering, but there's only 16 slots on the beta app site, not 20, so the former must be what they're asking for, I guess.

I don't know why they went through all that stuff to send out beta codes in EU and the US. My JP copy of FFXIII has the code printed on a piece of paper without having to register anything <_<

I believe they are asking you to use the SE Members code that came with FFXIII. That's the only thing I have that fits those blanks.

You actually need to register that code to the SE Members website and then the beta code will be e-mailed to you. The SE Members code won't fit anyway.
Japan on the other hand got the code in the game case without having to go through all this stuff.

Thing is I have but have only gotten the 20 character code and no other that fits the layout they ask for. My FFXIII is a day 1 copy too. I has no clue.

I believe it also said that if you applied for the PS3 beta back for 1.0 it was already included in your app this time, so if you used the code to try to get into the PS3 beta the first go round you don't have to stress about it this time.

A recent JP dev post said that the codes are region locked, and hence the JP FFXIII code can't be used outside of Japan.

Thank you for all the achievement suggestions, everyone!

Just like in version 1.0, we plan on rewarding some of your achievements with actual in-game rewards.

We also passed along some of your suggestions to the lead developer. While the specifics for achievement content have not yet been finalized, we plan on adding achievements continuously throughout development so keep the suggestions coming! =)

Just wanted to drop a heads up that we are coordinating with AMD and Nvidia so that Crossfire/SLI will be supported when the game is officially released.

We discussed the possibilities of including a lifetime subscription for FFXIV with Yoshida. He has researched other company's business models and knows that a few of them do offer lifetime subscriptions. Currently there aren't any plans to offer this option when the game launches, but there's always a possibility it's something that could be made available in the future.
