Not really digging the design. Icy armor does not become a blue primal; icy blue skin/hair would go a long way though.

Those aren't final colours at all. The red shade is one of the basic materials zbrush uses to render stuff. The other parts are likely just the same basic material with a colour applied to them, it isn't anywhere near the final product.

This isn't the final model, it's the high detail model they use to project the details to the lower detailed model (IE the one they'll actually texture and use in-game). I figured showing developmental shots would be a bad idea.

I lacked perspective but after reading Elcura's post I have a feeling it'll turn out better.

If they are gonna release this kinda thing they need those kinda explanations with it. Would go a long way. But yeah, its easier just to not show it this early I guess.

Snap judgements are snap judgements whether you're speaking from a position of knowledge or ignorance. Its your right to make those judgement as a (former?) paying customer. If SE is going to get butthurt into not showing new details and news over that (not accusing them of such), then they're a pretty sad company.

For the Final Fantasy series, I'm extremely concerned about the quality of information as well as screenshots and artwork that are to be released. You wouldn't believe what we have to go through even when we want to release something to our fans! (lol) With that said, before something is released I need to check it, so the promotional team cannot take it upon themselves to release assets.

You don't know what you're talking about. WoW players bitch 3,000,000 times more than any XIV fan ever could, and have been doing so for 8 years, and are still fed a daily allotment of "blue posts", PTR information, screenshots, ect. from the devs. That is a choice of the devs and the devs alone, and it has absolutely nothing to do with fan voice or fan perception or anything else. If it ever did, then SE has no one but themselves to blame for their failures, because keeping your playerbase in the dark because of frail emotions and potentially hurt-feelings over their reactions (of which they fucking pay for, lets not forget) is a sure sign of incompetence.
