I'm sure they have someone playing it. Hell, I'm sure they have someone playing Darkfall Online, as shitty of a game that is.

Looks like another day of silence..
It's still pretty early on the west coast, though yeah I'm not holding my breath.
God damnit. There were some JP posts but no good sauce in em. Back to sleep.
Uhm, i'll take some wild guesses:God damnit. There were some JP posts but no good sauce in em.
"We checked with the dev team on the matter of Realm vs Realm and it might be added soon"
"We checked with the guys at the dev team about the idea of collecting pets and battle your friends with them, and they said it might be added soon"
"Dev team says, on the matter of hard modes for dungeon bosses, they may be added in the future"
Nope. Some shit about lodestone blog update in late May, another about account security and some the other 2 I dont get.
"We checked with the devs on the idea of rideable rocket mounts, and by extension the ability to go on great space adventures in 8-man groups, and they said it may be added soon."
In all seriousness, can't wait to get some concrete info this week (though not today, it seems)
I got a little chuckle out of a japanese post yesterday, someone seemed to be complaining about sites invading their privacy and feeling like they're being stalked because their character information is uploaded on there. lols.
We still might get something this afternoon/evening. Letters seem to be pretty random.
Either way, I hope to god for info soon since I think I'm losing brain cells from General.
Seriously, the Tanaka appreciation thread is pretty much ageing me in my seat.
I gave up on that when someone told me "What's wrong with surplus?"
Nobody can be that stupid, right?
Oh god, I love all the Tanaka dick riders. "He didn't have tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime to fix the game! It's not his fault." Last I checked, he had what? 5 Years? 5 Years to mismanage a steaming pile of crap. And while I totally understand the entire situation isn't totally his fault his position sets him up to be an effigy in the event of catastrophic failure.
LEAVE TANAKA ALONE. ;___;
I got a chuckle from the thread about 'seeing a bunch of new players.' Yeah right...
I love the "I wish we could've seen Tanaka's vision for the game through to completion! ;" comments, personally.
Tanaka's vision for the game was a world where one could inconvenience themself to the point they'd be forever lost in a sea of menus and slip into a coma out of frustration over just wanting to produce a rank 10 pointy hat.
It remains to be seen whether Yoshi-P fucks up, but people who think Tanakas "my way or the PS2 limitation highway" approach would still fly in 2011 are freaking idiots.
People are just upset because he's such a creative force. And yes, while he USED to create good games, he's just too old and far too out of touch with today's generation of MMOs, convenience, and what is exactly acceptable in terms of grinding and content.
Tanaka reminds me of high school and japanese class. The workbook we used had "Tanaka san" for like every exercise. True story.
He fucked up the project, doesn't mean he couldn't fix it.
Tanaka is quite capable of adapting, we've seen it before many times. I don't really give a damn who leads as long as they have the support of the company but Tanaka could have been the man to do the job just as well as Yoshida.
/dickriding etc.
Tanaka and Yoshida are both extremely common JP surnames btw.
We have? Really? *scratch scratch* Enlighten me on his adaptation. I always thought he had a bunch of yes-men around him that implemented his ideals, for better or for worse, but I could be wrong.
I'll say again, I don't think there is any difference now in what Yoshida is doing and what Tanaka would have been doing at this point. The change of heads was a cosmetic one to make people think "wow, se means business!"
The high amount of hope people put in Yoshida because he wrote some down to earth letters is humorous though. He really hasn't done much to change the game, and I soubt anymore than Tanaka would have managed by this point.
The bottom line is they are both servants of an arrogant company, that think throwing money at this will fix it. When/if they do fix this game to a playable, competitive state, they will market it poorly outside Japan and 90% of players will be japanese anyway.
Whenever the game needed to be changed, that's what he did. With a budget that suits an aging game of course, but nonetheless.
Whatever he did during the last few years doesn't matter when it comes to saving the game. Neither him, Yoshida or anyone else can do anything about it. Both men start from the same line, and Tanaka is no stone incapable of changing. Quite the opposite.
I don't think the change was cosmetic. They clearly have different priorities and ideals which affect the game's future considerably, but to say Tanaka's way would have been inferior is baseless speculation at best.
Anyway, you know new info is desperately needed when we start rehashing shit from ages ago. 3 days to go~
