Also, isn't currency being cut by like 10%? So there's less money in old economies but truly unless you want to bang out 7 relics in the span of 2 weeks then 500mil isn't helping much.

They're not cutting any gil, but instead lowering it's value. So while people will have less money, stuff will cost less at npcs etc. so the overall worth stays the same, just the numbers are smaller.
Essentially, we're having to reconstruct our pricing for higher value items, because who cares what an NPC sale price is for a Dodore Doublet? Still putting that shit up for 3mil, or w/e the fk your economy was in 1.0. Shit's not just gonna magically become 300k Just Cause 10% gil reduction.
Prices will be nearly the same for a while, and spending power will decrease drastically. Eventually though Prices will level out in line with the new adjustment.
No it won't, but it also won't sell for 3mil just like that.
Just a correction, it's a 90% gil reduction. It's being reduced to 10% of the total.
Whether this is an actual cut to our spending power or not will really depend on how easy it is to make gil in 2.0, if it's as easy as it was in 1.0 then we just lost 90% of our buying power. If it's much more difficult then we won't see much of a difference at all once the economy stabilizes(which will take a while).
It really makes absolutely no difference whatsoever, than keeping from 1.0 players from hitting the gil cap faster. But man would it suck going from 999m to 99m lol... That's a big fkin drop.
If you have 1,000,000 gil you will log on with 100,000 unless they changed it. They will be cutting a decimal out... which was my understanding.
And starting a new character sounds cool and all... but this game is not going to hit shelves in a store and be snatched up by new people. 1. We all already did that. 2. Half the people quit. Maybe half of those who quit will give it another chance. 3. Where is the marketing for this game to give interest to new players? My friends who actually play video games have no idea anything about this. Even some who played 1.0. The new servers may be dead for a while unless a majority start over.
This is my opinion.
On a lighter note.
Tomorrow is February
That means Beta is just around the corner. It's been an entire Month without XIV. Yall Legacy Members(lol) excited?
Would be funnier. That should be their April fools'.Inc, Letter from the Producer XLII
"We're sorry to inform everyone but ARR has been cancelled"
Now you guys are making me wonder if I should start over with my boyfriend/friends on a new server. I have a character that has a level 50 dragoon but....really next to no money on it and no gear. But I would still hate to leave that character behind. :S Everyone I would be playing with don't even have a character higher than level 10 so they would have to start out on an old server.
Gear won't really matter, there's going to be new stuff for sure.
I'm actually having sort of a mental race between which one ill see first, my tax return, my student aid or the beta good money right now is on student aid.
