If you're legacy why do you care when the e-mail comes through? You know you're in anyway. The beta site and download may not become available the same time the e-mails go out so there could still be waiting. It's this I'm more interested in.

We won't be hearing any new info until all of the media invited to these things have had a chance to publish their articles. At least that's what I'd think. What's the point of inviting the media to private events to show off all the new stuff and then telling the public yourself? Media needs those page views / magazine sales. :3
