i ran the benchmark both on max and medium settings, but even on medium, the game still looks pretty good

Yeah, mine is starting to show it's age as well . I remember I first got this for 1.0 when the alpha came out, and it was OMG TOP NOTCH. Now it's like, welllllll this is good but there's better.

Wow, got 5086 (very high performance) at maximum settings. I had to run 1.0 at medium to high settings, max was not even an option.

i wonder the same thing for the PS3 version. apparently they mentioned to the press that PS3 is only 75% optimized.. but made no note of that in the actual video..
still, framerate aside, you can see how they managed to get the PS3 version to be on par with a medium to low setting PC.. which is pretty nice.

i'd like to see how PS3 fares when its fully optimized because i intend to play a fair bit on both ps3 and my laptop.. which i fear will burn out even at medium settings if i go hardcore

Tried many different configurations on my laptop (not a gaming laptop at all) and the best score I could manage on the "lowest" settings was pretty bad. The dropped frames looked worse than the PS3 vids they've been releasing.

I'm quite surprised at how well the PS3 version looks (despite the framerate issue). I'll definitely be picking up a PS3 copy just to support, hopefully there's like a collectors edition or something.

I feel ya gulk... worst part is when you finally get the money to upgrade and it becomes obsolete within half a year. Guess I'll wait for the actual game release + 6 months before considering upgrading, that way it'll last a bit longer...

PS3 is terrible anyway. Console users are used to their shit looking terrible or looking decent and running terrible if they ever bother to look at a PC, so they're right on track.

Lol@512 megs of ran split in two. Surprised the game even runs on PS3 to begin with.

The vibrancy of the towns is massively improved upon, though it's hard to tell how many were actual NPCs vs PC, especially when compared to the controller video. If they had a range of kid NPCs, running around, that would cement the immersion.

Loved most of the Exploration video, but I can't imagine all of that stuff is going to show up in one area. Still, it was pretty awesome, watching Genbuzilla in the background, the fights going on around, while Rappido zoomed past the Chocobo parade. Chocobo'ing off the cliff = O_O

I was kind of shocked by how poor the PS3 version looked next to the PC version, although I suppose I should have been expecting this. Terrible frame rate, screen tearing all over the place and at no point was anyone ever running!
