These "immersion" idiots are the worst. For some reason they were in love with 1.0. They would want you to travel across zones in real-time, bring back stamina, carry one set of equipment, have a death penalty, and pretend the game is Sword Art Online.

LMAO @ the WoWclone thread, do these people even raid on these games? or better yet, did they even level a character to level cap in WoW and experience how much harder raiding in normal/heroic modes is than anything that was released in FFXI that wasn't broken like AV?

It's hard to think that the 20-30+ year old crowd (guesstimating since the OF seem to praise FFXI so much) can be so religious about something that, while incredibly nostalgic, is so inexorably poor in execution, compared to what a 'mature' MMO should offer, that it's hard to believe it isn't all just trolling. I suppose it speaks volumes either way.

I was surprised to hear that some of my rather young coworkers had played so much ffxi, so its possible that they simply are a huge chunk of very loud young 20 year olds talking. Kids these days
