Nope, but I have considered committing mass genocide because I fucking hate Tarutaru/Lalafell/whatever halfling stereotype with the raging flames of a million burning suns.

I gotta admit, when I saw that the Elezen haircut (see Elvaan 2B) would be available on Lalafell I tried it out. The results left me deeply confused.

You're gonna hate them even more when the devs crack and start making super-busty lalafells as per the beta/OF requests that won't quit.

Can't deny it, after so many years spent as Tarutaru in XI I swore I will never play a mini-race again, but the changed walk animation and the starting gear makes me want to have a Lalafell alt at least

To be fair, I can't even tell that the bust option for lalafell even changes anything. I don't want huge titties on a kid-like runt, but why even have the option at all if it doesn't do something? If it were up to me, I'd just take out that customization option for lalafell.

When are they releasing the character creator to the general public again? With that 2nd benchmark?

Dunno about the lalafell slider. Was too busy pondering what the upcoming new hairstyles might be like for my highlander chick alt. (o.O ) My hyuran midlander PLD is staying as is. He reminds me of my XI character, except his hair is brown, not bright orange. Dunno what the hell they're thinking even adding the option for lalafell, especially if it doesn't do anything.

For what it's worth
I think Halflings are disgusting miniature caricatures of people.
I think Tarutaru are disgusting parasites with oversized onion heads and no knees.
But Lalafell? Good proportions for the most part and, with a non-chipmunk voice, I can take her seriously.

Re: Lalafem bust - you'll only ever notice it (if you squint) if you strip them, you pedophiles.

Well, there you have it. ^(O.o)^ SO. Everyone play Highlander chick and midlander chick. It's for the best.

EDIT: Completely as an aside, it seems that the day-on/days off structure of beta testing will continue through phase 3. o.o This is the first beta test I've ever done, so at this point, I am assuming that closed betas are usually like this, and the servers only begin to stay online once open beta commences?

It's definitely true that XI's content (before level cap was raised) was always relevant, no matter the expansion. They only provided different play styles (as varied as it could be with the limits of the system). You can get haste build with one content, a resist set with another, an accuracy set with yet another, so on and so forth. Part of why so much gear remained relevant was because of the terrible stats for some aspects yet awesome stats for others; part of it was because of the gear swap system. I don't see how older content can remain relevant in the new MMO system, unless you can transform that old content gear into materials that can upgrade your new content stuff, or upgrade your old content stuff so that it's on par with new content stuff.
