A Flame Leviathan like fight would also be most welcome.

Assuming we will get them similar to WoW, meaning some absurd feat.
They could do like WoW and have you use them for badass missions, and allow you a small chance to win a non-functional (IE. without all the cool laser beams and missiles) mount version from whatever high level FATE or Raid play they develop. It would be similar to some of those WotLK quest chains where you're flying around on a badass dragon, burning villages or freezing the undead and whatnot, and then you get a shot at earning those very same dragons as mounts as a reward from the max-level Raids and Instances.

Point being that I don't want Magitek to be just for show. There has to be some avenue of the game where we get a chance to blow the ever-loving piss out of something with them. Otherwise, they should just make a mini-tek as a vanity pet and leave it at that, or make them NPC-onry.

While having functional lasers and such is cool, they need to have verniers. Everything is better with verniers.

Man, you guys are just going OF-style retarded now. Functional magitek would either be super anti-climactic, or super broken; neither of which, I have any interest in seeing. Stick to your guns Yoshi-P, make them the same as any other mount.

Need a reason why the guns don't work? Maybe we don't have sufficient Ceruleum to power them.

Never been a fan of "costumed battles" myself. Especially if they just strip away all your normal abilities for the flavor ones.

Magitek Raids... Ulduar comes to mind. Remember the first boss? Everyone is in a vehicle. lol

Ulduar is still the best tier of raiding WoW has ever had.

So Rukkiri just posted on Twitter that she is moving to Seattle in two weeks. She gonna cease to be a community rep? I wonder.

It would be no different from magitek battles in FFVI, I don't see what's wrong with that idea.

If done well, I actually enjoy the one-offs that are for flavor or just to do something unique and different. I think it's a great way to add some variety in the world. Something like Ipsen's Castle, or a magiteck raid with baseline IMO would be a lot of fun. As the world gets bigger, I like the idea of having some variation to the (so to speak) "natural laws" of the world. Less boring, more variety.

In the end, the execution is important. I just find myself disappointed more than impressed when presented with such things. For example, the robot phase in the latest Chronicle that Trion added to Rift is pretty awful. Heck, I could even try to do a recording of later on to demonstrate.

Thanks fine.. I admit I don't have firsthand experience with that in an MMO, and of course if it's not done exceptionally well the whole thing just falls in on itself. But I still like the concept!

See the chronicle didn't bother me as much as the dungeon version. The chronicle vehicle section is short (<5 min). I can also ignore it at a certain point of gear. The dungeon version feels as if it lasts a life time and you can't ignore it due to random queue. If you want to show bad vehicle sections, record the dungeon.

Most of the OF is filled with people who are extreme fanboys/girls who want things for better or worse. Every now and then there's going to be someone here who wants something that is unreasonable. Magitek armor just hits several of our sweet spots I guess.

I wouldn't think they'd give us completely functional Magitek armor all the time but maybe a raid where you can temporarily use one or something would be awesome.

I like where your mind is going, I'm going to climb on this wavelength and ride it out for the rest of today.

All I hope is that Magitek will do PEW PEW sounds when it fires missiles!

I don't run dungeons, so all I really have there is second-hand info. If it's all the same abilities, though, yeah, shitty.

Yoshi said earlier that magitek is only a mount, and will not be used in battle.

Was such a fun raid. I was always diving into the Mechanohog before others could claim them. Good times.

I wonder if she's going to work for Valve. I know they had a community rep position open.
