Cures weren't close to deeps either lol. The only time cures or other factors were relevant were when you stacked enmity and didn't take damage at all/spammed them because your damage wasn't high.

A Samurai, Monk, Warrior could tank through deeps better than a Paladin, always. A Paladin had more surviveability for baddies because it could cure and avoid attacks.

Once Paladin got Atonement, it could also deeps and you sacrificed what you could to do more of it.

Having 0 control over your pet seems really stupid, we all remember spirits in XI right?
The special ability kinda hints at pets having their own abilities though.

I try to forget that they exist really. I don't think current FFXI players bother getting the pacts anymore either.
I just want to see Arcanist/Summoner in action or try it myself to see what it's like before I make a strong opinion.

FFXI's main Hate problem was that there was a cap, and once everyone hit it, shit hit the fan as people hit and dropped from the cap with the smallest number change. If there was no cap, you'd probably never have taken hate off a good PLD.
