Phase 3 is gonna be great. I wonder what's gonna happen to the old characters we can import though. Are we gonna keep jobs and AF or is that stuff going to disappear for now? I kinda doubt jobs will be available (even at launch).

Looks awesome but then I hope the characters will change things up every now and then. Having an NPC dangling from a yardarm is cool at first but then if that guy never moves or gets taken down, then it's basically just "neat static background".

Wow, I went to open up the beta roadmap expecting to see "Jobs" right there in Phase III but it's not on the roadmap at all. Weird.

Well it's not that crazy because Phase 3 is still capped at 35 so you wouldn't see much of the jobs even if they were in. It is weird for those who import their characters though so I'm not sure how they're going to handle it.

The roadmap says that if your level is already past 35, then *that* is your cap, so I assume that the way they've rigged it is to set the XP to hit 36 to be -1 or something, so if you're already past 35 you can keep going (for all the good it'll do you).

Also the roadmap says the cap may change, it's TBD. Probably depends on how much post-35 content is ready for Phase III and how much they introduce partway through.

Well, could basically tell you that since Phase 1, they have been working on phase 3... *cough* data miners *cough* there are some sites that have shown whats in the dats so far. (Can't go into detail what all it is!)

Same here, got my PC powered up to do some sexy mode maximum 2560x1440 res videos for youtube. Also been wanting to post a few... hilarious 2chan ffxiv animations of the stuff they've done

Last thing I've heard is that you keep your level however you won't be able to level up past 35 (if you were 37 in 1.0 you will be 37 in Phase 3 but you can't hit 38). Things could change but I don't see them adding tons of content for higher levels without the endgame areas.

I hope that the people who import their level 50's into phase 3 will be able to keep that level if the level is capped to 35 for the sake of more accurate data transfer testing.

Letting users promote your shit is a double-edged sword. The users will post anything - good or bad - about the game. Things that annoy one user that posts about it may wind up annoying many other potential players. SE has to make sure they're doing work on their own end, instead of leaving it simply up to users, many of whom are probably still pissed about having to shell out cash for such an initially shitty project anyway.

I didn't mind it when they did stuff like the weapon skill videos and stuff. That was a step in the right direction. We need more stuff like that for 2.0. The well has been pretty dry lately. It's likely there is so much going on over there with transitions, quarterly reports, expectation meetings, etc. that marketing isn't able to put the effort in that it needs to. It goes without saying that right now is the time when marketing needs to be given the most attention, if for no other reason but to deflect any so-called "bad press" users or sites may be putting out with the limited information they have.

You all are assuming there is gonna be a massive wave of bad press. Not every person likes every MMO, but 2.0 is pretty solid. While it has a few issues that everyone is saying will be addressed in phase 3/4, the core gameplay and system is good imo and very solid...

My opinion I from somebody who thought 1.0 was the biggest PoS a company could put out there... I'm still floored at how Tanako was able to get that out of the door. So yeah, I've done a complete 180 from 1.0

Yeah everyone here thought 1.0 was shit, just like everyone here thought FFXI was shit too. And yet pretty much everyone here played both ! :D
