I don't really need to respond to you, since solracht pretty much said everything needed. However, watch this video and tell me if you've experienced a more complex fight than this in XI or XIV, ever.



To sum this up:

Sometimes stand next to people, but don't always stand next to people.
Stand next to someone, but not someone who you've stood next to recently.
Sometimes run away from a mob, but sometimes kill it.
Sometimes attack a green mob, sometimes attack an orange mob, but you have to look at your buffs to know which!
Don't stand in green stuff, unless you're the designated person to stand in green stuff!
Do metric asstons of damage while doing all this.
Let's not forget the healers and tanks that have to be doing their thing too!

If one person stands next to the wrong person/doesn't kill a mob/etc., you wipe and start over.

But yeah, like you said, it must just be "Do enough DPS or lose".

Man that UI is so fugly. I hope ARR doesn't turn into that with addons.

Sounds like you should have a second screen filled with all that kind of shit and play the game in the first one. But I doubt WoW or ARR will support that kind of thing.

there are certain people that don't care how the game looks and want to play it to its fullest at the highest level of difficulty.

probably pretty hard for ffxi players to understand when a wow player nukes their graphics to get that extra 1-2 FPS. sometimes this forum makes me sad

Does the majority of non-WoW players not know you can customize your UI in WoW? Not all UIs are that cluttered. Heck, you can play the game with no UI elements at all.

I try to minimize mine, whether it is or not is up to you, lol.

Agree on the replaying game for different classes. God I hated that shit when I jumped into WoW from XI. So glad XIV went with the one avatar all classes route. Best thing to come to MMORPG.

i am always amazed when people think ffxi has a good storyline, it's just absolutely mind boggling. and yeah art in WoW is a different style, not everything is meant to like 1080p holy shit is that a real tree. it's cartoony because that's how they wanted it

Yeah I did play WoW and I couldn't stand raiding. That video certainly didn't change my mind.

Im glad I did play WoW. I was fun something different when FFXI got boring, also I got temp banned for something really stupid in FFXI. I used mostly the original UI in WoW. I didn't care for all that extra crap. I also didn't raid, was a PvP guy. Which is why I am really looking forward to PvP in phase 4(?).

Anyhow, I think I will be relocating my hometown to Uldah. That Yoshi P dancer on the left was pretty funny/weird.
