Anyone know what the bottom-right icon in the armoury chest is?
Spoiler: show
Is that the never-used 'pack' slot? or job stones (hopefully they still don't take away from the available chest space)?
I think its job stones, I do not think its gonna take away from chest space as each equipment slot seems to have its own grid/sheet
BTW the border on the quest pane is really nice, and I like what they did to the "X" to close window. It was way too small previously.
The difference being that we're talking about a potential class/job, not consumables in general.
They just made the decision to not allow a class/job's effectiveness be determined by something finite. Consumables being useful and easy for any class/job to use is completely unrelated.
As I already said, I disagree with that interpretation; it seems to me that they just made the decision to allow a class/job to auto-attack without burning through consumables input-free.
And furthermore, since arrows are part of a weapon (which are, by definition, class/job specific) and "healing tools" would be part of a skill, and this is a game that focuses very much on shared skills, I think your comparison is even more off track. You mean to tell me that consumable food and consumable crystals and consumable healing potions and consumable enhancements and consumable status removal are all fine and dandy, but consumable-based skills cross the line?
I feel it's more about a class/job having a gil cost to function when others don't that they wanted to avoid.
I don't think arrow costs were an issue with ARC. Inventory certainly was in the early game, but that's a problem easily resolved. I think it's really the same reason ARC never got auto-attack: they want some sort of confirmed input before you consume an item. And they realized that not having auto-attack was a significant nerf to ARC, so they solved the problem as best they could.
Outside of the "I deserve to be better because I'm spending money" entitlement whining (which was quickly discarded as a balance method in XI and never had any legs in XIV), I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with a job having costs. I mean, we all pay far more in maintenance costs (read: repair) than we did in XI, and that's considered to be an upgrade over the previous keep-your-money-but-level-down system.
not sure if right thread, but don't see much activity outside of this one really, so forgive me if wrong place to ask:
would i have received any notification or acceptance for ps3 beta app yet? or is that still a ways away?
Not yet, Id say 2-3 weeks more
