Also, haven't seen anyone ask - What about the preorder bonuses (Mog Cap and Cait Sith minion)? I *assume* existing account holders will get those too but it's not mentioned.

I'm planning to get a PS3 CE anyway, but if I need to get a second regular ARR just for the preorder bonus stuffs, then so be it.

Those and CE-related questions are actually answered in a video here, but alas it's in Japanese only at the moment. Guess that means most of you will need to wait for a official trans before you get the official answers.

Then again, they do plan to add many mounts to FFXIV. Its probably a achievement? rare drop? boss drop? something mount possibility.

With legacy we'd get early access no matter what anyway, no? You'd just get screwed out of early access to bonus items

It's understandable, but it's also frustrating. A lot of the time sites in Sweden sites have prices in € when the primary currency here is kronor. Although because of this, a lot of the time game prices are inflated from what they would cost in $ or £ (Simcity cost about €20 more than it would have if it was converted correctly), but ARR prices seem pretty well converted, so I would rather take the cheaper price and have to order a physical copy from somewhere else.

Thats my concern as well, never ordered from SE directly but have heard bad things. Ready to pre order my CE's now if Amazon would put em up.

Same, waiting on Amazon to update their page for FFXIV: ARR before I decide to pre-order from SE.

After GW2's early access, I've really no interest in buying something again just for a 2-day access. Considering I have every physical class to level up anyway, there's absolutely no rush. I could see why people who have 50's would want to dive right in, but end-game and all of that doesn't interest me this time around.

I'll take my time and savor it.

When you add a preorder product to your cart on the SE site, there are two different items listed - the game itself, and the preorder SKU.

The description on the preorder SKU reads:

FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn Pre-Order Bonus Package
Pre-Order FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn and get early access to the game along with the Cait Sith Doll Minion pet and Mog Cap digital in-game content.

Delivery Method
Electronic Download

So I think you're safe there.

Limsa and its surrounding areas are exceedingly beautiful. I'm an Ul'dah man and the highbridge looks amazing but I just don't know. The octant looks ah, so full of life.

Please note that the pre-order bonus codes are different for the Playstation 3 and Windows versions.

Important detail for those that are pre-ordering the PS3 version for physical goodies/early access. It sounds like the pre-order bonuses would only be applicable to the PS3 service account. I imagine there will be another post clarifying this in the near future.

I already have 1.0 CE + Legacy, so which ARR CE I order for physical bonuses will depend on whether or not Legacy early access includes the pre-order in-game bonus items.

Looks like (according to the product page) those two in game items along with early access are pre order bonuses only so you would have to pre order one version or another to get them.

Legacy- early access, Legacy bird, meteor item and if CE 1.0 the in game items

1.0 CE Owners non legacy- all of the ARR CE in game bonus items

Pre order + ARR CE - all in game bonus items and early access

Pre order + standard edition - pre order bonuses plus early access

Digital upgrade to CE - all CE in game bonus items plus early access if Legacy

Thats how it seems to break down going by the product page.

So, I did one PS3 CE preorder on the SE website.

They gave me a preorder code straight-up and told me to go to http://preorder.na.finalfantasyxiv.com to register to be notified when the preorder site is ready to accept codes. The code was also sent to me via email.

I think I should now be fine to just order a second PS3 standard edition to get the second set of bonuses I'd require for the missus.
