It's possible for them to make shit that looks like scholar gear without it actually being gear for a scholar, that said I'd be happy to see more jobs included (especially mage ones). They need to hurry up and confirm that shit.

In XI, SCH made a lot of sense; I just think it makes less sense in XIV where CNJ/WHM is already somewhat of a hybrid WHM/BLM. Sure SCH had other abilities that were useful (MP cost reduction, more AOE spells, think they got some AOE haste or TP gain after level cap raise, etc.), but the overall idea was hybrid WHM/BLM.

I agree. I'm thinking it will be primarily support or debuff, then secondary healer.

The overall idea was a DoT mage but that was quickly dropped and forgotten and it moved towards the hybrid until recent additions like more Regen spells and Kaustra/Embrava. Arcanist has DoT spells and SCH could easily expand on that or even add HoT mechanics.

If their intention was truly to introduce SCH, I could see it being "A seasoned tactician that could shift the tides of the battle to your favor." Translation: Buffer. But I doubt it.

Sage could branch out from Scholar, but a true Sage would be hella OP without some abysmal stats and speed to offset the massive amounts of magical potential at its fingertips.

Classes don't really have AF gear and it's in a circle of jobs, classes are all in the background and generic looking. The fact that they're teasing Scholar on its own leads me to believe that it will simply come from Arcanist. Summoner was revealed alongside its class a few months ago, if Scholar had a different one we'd have some hints already.

The "scholar" is clearly holding a grimoire. It's either class specific equipment (teasing AF for the classes), or another job, but either way it's definitely not going to come with it's own new base class, and it's not a new class of its own.

Perhaps ACN will be the first class with two jobs attached to it. That would certainly make it appealing to level and keeps capped legacy players busy a bit longer.

Got a question out of curiosity, not sure if answered already as the thread has been going at like 30 posts per day recently here.

You need to "preorder" to get the benefits, so what is it considered if you already have a copy of the game from 1.0 that already allows you to play 2.0, is that considered a "preorder" or not?
