So to clarify... if you purchased 1.0 CE, you have Legacy status, and you want to remain PC only, the only reason to buy or pre-order any ARR product is if you want the physical swag that comes in the ARR CE box?

Pre Order to get early Access is the only reason i did it and cause i have a disposable income.

General preference question: If you have the old PC version, but own a PS3, are you getting a PS3 version? Ignore the CE goodies / early access / etc. I'm talking long-term, what is the rationale for being able to play on both PS3 and computer?

I have a PS3 and my computer in the same room; I always thought I'd grab PS3 when it came out, but now that I think about it, I can't really see me using it much. It would be way easier to dual-box on my computer. Not an antagonistic question, just trying to get others' thoughts on it. The only reason I've come up with thus far is so I can lay on my bed and play when doing the more mindless solo things like FATE.

We (alpha as phuq) already do that with the PC version. Not even suggesting wireless keyboard/mouse on the bed/couch/loveseat. Full on wireless controller with wireless headset (if you must). Getting both versions, when you can already do everything the other can better in every way, while getting fucked graphically... that's just beta as phuq. Step up your game. (not directed at you)

There's no way in hell I'll get the PS3 version since you can't just install the software and be good to go.
I'm not going to pay for the ability to play on the same account on my PS3. There's little benefit for me anyway as my monitor is literally right next to my TV and my PS3 is basically just above my PC.

Any time I'd want to play on the triple, I could just play on PC instead.

Early access is Legacy and pre-orders only. You can pre-order a new version and get early access if you wanted to blow the money, but we don't currently know how long "early access" is (do we?), but it could just be like... 24 hours or something pointless like that.

What I don't know is whether you get the pre-order bonuses for doing the "CE Upgrade Package", but I would hope so.

I'd like to answer a couple of questions regarding the purchase of the official version of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn.

Are the pre-order bonuses attached to the entire Square Enix account? Or is it just a registration code we activate on specific service accounts?

Pre-order bonuses attach to an FFXIV service account, so all characters on that service account will be able to receive the pre-order bonuses.

Will it be possible to register the PS3 version's pre-order bonuses on the Windows version?

Yes, this will be possible. By inputting the product code enclosed with the PS3 version into your PS3, you will be able to choose to add the PS3 version to either an existing FFXIV service account or a new FFXIV service account. If you choose to add it to an FFXIV existing service account, the pre-order bonuses will be applied to that FFXIV service account.

For people who purchased the 1.0 Collector's Edition, it was said that the bonuses would be distributed via Mog Letters; however, will these still be distributed even if we didn't input any codes?

Users who purchased and registered the FFXIV version 1.0 Collector's Edition, the bonus items will be sent by Mog Letter without having to input any additional codes.
Users who purchased the FFXIV version 1.0 Collector's Edition but did not register the code will need to input the Collector's Edition registration code.

Are the pre-order bonuses only for online purchase? If you pre-order at a retail store will be bonuses still be included?

Pre-orders have begun today for both online purchases and retail stores as well. Please note that this may differ from store to store, so it's a good idea to confirm with the retailer beforehand.

No, players who have fulfilled the criteria for the Legacy Campaign are only being granted early access to the game.

When registering the pre-order bonus code you will be able to select which FFXIV service account the bonus is applied to.

Or will it be necessary to purchase the Standard Edition of ARR as well as the digital upgrade?

You simply need to purchase the Collector's Edition digital upgrade.

At first I was thinking that it was just some sorta arcanist-specific outfit and ya'll were just doing that thing you do. I mean, it has the arcanist book and summoner is confirmed to be arcanist's job. 'Course that doesn't preclude anything. Could be just as we suspected and every class gets more than one job to spec into (though probably not at launch). The pic is very obviously drawn by Yoshida, the art director (still, right?). Amano probably drew the Collector's cover earlier in production since he's only brought in for fancy shit anyway; not a regular team member (e.g. out of the loop). So yeah, Scholar, sure.

This begs the question though, is that other shit in the background of the artwork just a bunch of outfits, or are those concepts for more Jobs?
