So you had scrubs in your LS.
Got it!
Worse than scrubs rly
I mean, worse than this:
What I remember about RDM Maat, dispel shell, chainspell, nuke, convert, heal(?), nuke. Wasn't really about skill as much as it was about luck iirc, but it has been like 8 years or something. Oh and probably some CC to not make him such a bitch.
Then they nerfed him I think, so really there was no excuse.
No, maybe, I don't know about whatever the fuck you said, but RDM Maat used to be able to cast Fire3 (which a lv70 RDM cannot)--that's the primary nerf I remember happening
Pretty sure this post will get over shadowed by the Maat talk everyone is having...
But the Road Map has been updated with NDA Partially lifted and duty finder/level sync added for p3

Already been posted.
Maat fights were just wildly far apart in difficulty. Losing the RNG Maat fight was damn near impossible, and the only real challenge was to see how fast you could beat him.
Spoiler: show
They most definitely either A. nerfed him or B. buffed rdm and it became easier. I can't remember which one it was, it may have been both.
The -real- luck based test was Thief. I heard of someone who failed over 50 steals before finally winning. I myself won on my second testimony lol. You could always go skillz and defeat him normally, but that was pretty hard, particularly in the era before thief could use crossbows.
And call1 no less, ugh, you are the worst kind of person.
In my battles for Maat's Cap (before I discovered that there was such a thing as reality and outdoors lol), before level sync and other such conveniences, I beat THF Maat at Level 66 without the option for Steal even being a factor. As I recall... I beat him with a Blink Band, Opo Necklace Sleep TP to 100, that weird shield with Enchantment Phalanx on it or some crap, and as much evasion gear as I could squeeze. Didn't even occur to me to use a crossbow for bloody bolts I don't think. Beat him first try too... regardless, RNG was RNG, I won't deny that at all.
Well, yes, in 2004, when skillchain/MB was still something you did in pickup parties, I used calls. The fact that this screenshot was against Maat should tell you something about my level of endgame experience if my highest job is a 66RNG.
I'm sure you were born into haste gear and TP burn though, right?
I definitely wasn't born into blasting the shit out of call1s.
Yes, I was a n00b on my first job before I knew anything about endgame. You got me!
You would be even more shocked to see how much AF I was wearing during that fight.
Don't try to skirt the issue. Everyone past Valkurm Dunes didn't use high volume whistle calls unless they were an absolute assholish dickweed.
We all did stupid shit, but don't try to go OMG LOL I WAS IN AF ALSO FIGHTING MAAT LOL; nigga you straight up used call in your WS macros. Was your TP macro <call2>?
