Ok so cancelled and reordered, gonna wait over the next 48hrs and see if I get mine. I did order the pc digital version after the pre order bonus was up and never got a code for it either.

Are they doing release date shipping?

I'm hoping that it is sent early enough to take advantage of the early access, but that's wishful thinking. Most likely early access with involve downloading it directly from SE.

After looking at my order it's saying that the estimated delivery date is August 29th, so it looks like a no go on release date shipping so far.

Confusion over this pre-order and CE crap. Someone tell me what I need to know.

- I have a 1.0 account, non-legacy, with one character. I'd like to play this character, but its highest class in only like lv20.
- I plan on playing on PS3.
- I want that fucking Cait Sith doll.
- I want that fucking Coeurl mount.

If I pre-order the CE for PS3, can I not apply the bonuses to my existing 1.0 account? Would I need to make a new account and a new character entirely?

They're not.

The Collector's Edition digital upgrade offers customers the ability to upgrade their standard FFXIV account to digital Collector's Edition status via the “FFXIV Service Center” website that is scheduled to be opened at the launch of official service, which then grants the in-game bonus items included with the Collector's Edition.

There won't be a preorder for the upgrade, if that quote is accurate, because the upgrade service won't be available before the game comes out.

I wouldn't put it past SE to banhammer your account for that. You're basically getting the pre-order bonuses for free, which anyone/everyone could do.

Unless you just love collecting pre-order keys, in order for it to do anything (read: receive in-game bonuses), you would have to apply that key to an SE account.

A pre-order key for a cancelled pre-order would then be applied to your account.

Sol, a fkin VisualBasic compiled computer program can do that automatically. HELL an excel spreadsheet with a simple formula.

Wouldn't put it past them to at least invest the $12 dollars an hour for the paid intern to verify these things.

The alternative is that all users can get pre-order bonuses for free by signing up and then cancelling pre-orders.

Furthermore, how do you think the keys are generated? There's obviously a system in place in which pre-order keys are electronically activated upon distribution. Do you really think that system is one-directional?
