I would like to believe there are people, even in Japan, that might prefer a server that is active 24 hours-a-day instead of being dead when you feel the urge to play at 3:00am.

Some people are complaining that they have to transfer servers because they've been designated an NA/EU server, and thus instead of having to go through the trouble of server transfer and risk getting separated from friends/shellmates they should just create new Legacy servers for NA/EU and automatically transfer all NA/EU players to those servers and let the JPs remain in their current ones.

One went even as far to demand it because "our (JP) demand is higher than NA/EU! Why prioritize them above us!". The nerve.

Bare in mind these are the opinions of a few and do not reflect the opinions of us as a whole. Most opinions are centered around people voicing concerns that they risk getting separated by friends/linkshells in the server transfer process due to lack of communication/contact.

Oh there probably are. I strongly doubt they're more than an handful though

This is highly reminiscent of the initial server merge plan where people made a ruckus over the splitting of the community and friends. Minus the JP superiority of course.

Sorry for the delay in clarifying this, and with today's announcement seeming to cause more confusion.

Here is how non-disclosure agreement will work in Beta Test phase 3:

• Information will be free to post. Everything is open and you can post freely about any aspect of the beta test and your thoughts on it.

In regards to images and video in Beta Test phase 3:

• You can post images of phase 3 (no images from Alpha, phase 1 or phase 2)
• You cannot post audio or video.

We will be making a more detailed announcement before the start of Beta phase 3, but I wanted to share this general overview now.

Since it is going to be lifted soon I do not see any harm in posting this info.

There might be some confusion here over the name. For those that aren't aware, we (the Order of the Blue Garter linkshell on Durandal, though we're looking to move to an NA/EU server) get our fair share of negative attention for being one of the only hardcore NA shells in 1.0. We find it pretty silly given how much we actually do for the community, but them's the breaks. There's also some holdover blowback from the diehard XI players who trawl the official forums looking for an excuse to push their it's-my-$12.95-I'll-be-as-terrible-as-I-want agenda and probably have a grudge from being posted in the gimp thread here.

aww no pics from alpha and early beta's!? but the hilarious stuff of people doing crazy stuff is from those phases...! (especially.. ESPECIALLY, what the Jp did with the elzen females and male roe's)

They clarified the server situation somewhat, seems no EU data centers. Well more specifically they said NA/EU servers are located in the same place. Technically this could be EU but realistically it will be NA. The are translating a bigger post by Yoshi-p that goes into more detail.

UI changes is probably the more obvious one, they might have tweaked with the how the lighting works, or water rendering. They do not want people publishing ugly screenshots.
