By scroll do you actually mean scrolling through hotbars like in 1.0? You will use designated hot keys for your bars now or use your mouse they dont scroll like they did in 1.0, unless your doing controller scheme but thats a different deal.

I assumed there would still be a limit of only displaying 3 at a time. Displaying 10 at once would be crazy.

I think I get what you mean now. Anyway, you will probably be able to display up to maybe 4-5? hotbars total, e.b. two in the usual position and two on the sides. Then you can switch them to display any of the 10 hotbars.

According to the dev comments in phase 3 up to 10 can be displayed and 7-10 are vertical, reads like you can have all 10 up (but that would be a cluster fuck) at one time.

Have you really never played anything other than FF MMOs? This is an example of how the hotbars will look if you have them all enabled. (except Rift allows 7 and 4)

Also considering the UI layout adjustment menu is identical in this game as the options they've shown for FFXIV, I'd assume FFXIV is using scaleform as its UI development toolkit.

Why would I want to play other MMORPGs when ARR is about to be released?

The time for that was between 2006 and 2010 when I was playing none, but unfortunately I didn't try any apart from a couple of hours of WoW trial. I don't have time for two MMOs and unfortunately stuck with FFXIV 1.0 during the bad times. Still, ARR was announced over 2 years ago (under 2.0 name) so why get attached to another MMO when I don't have time for 2?

That Rift UI looks quite decent with all those bars but it still seems like too much clutter to me. I expect it will be rare that you need more than 3 or 4 but it's nice to have the option there.

I don't see why it's such a big deal that the only other MMORPG I have played is FFXI. There will be many others in the same boat. At least I'm not one of those tards who wants the game to be anything like FFXI. There's a reason I quit that shit a long time ago.
