Thats how you fucking do Q&As. Always loved that about Blizzard. Very informative responses that give you an image of how they see the game and where the see it going forward.

Yup. People can dislike WoW all they want but it works and Blizzard knows how to run a company and they know how to inform their customers on the happenings.
My expectations for 1.18 have dropped to an all time low, I am really not expecting much. This close to the supposed patch date, very little info about the actual patch just leaves me thinking its going to be delayed.
Just patch in return = 0 anima. I think everyone would benefit. Not to mention it's probably the easiest thing possible to change in the game right now.
You're not going to hear much from the non-Blizzard fans commenting about Blizzard's excellent Q&A. Blizzard does a top-notch job in that regard, despite the fact that, just like with every other game on the planet, the fans are, for the most part, completely ungrateful bastards when on the forums.
Anyway, the bevvy of XIII-2 stuff coming out has me somewhat hyped for SE to get their shit back together. I want to believe for XIII-2, and I want to believe that they can score some kind of heavyweight blow with this upcoming patch. Shit just needs to come out at this point; that's the best thing they can do right now. They aren't going to knock anything out of the park with their interviews, so just let the update speak for itself for now.
almost comical looking back from last year to now, regarding what they have done for this game
But then people would be able to go back to a place that they have recently been repeatedly with no cost! Surely you can see the abuse this would cause.
On a serious note, I think the reason that they've been tight-lipped on the new system is that it will likely have a huge effect on what currently passes for the economy, and they don't want people speculating ahead of time.
Well they screwed the pooch with letting us know that grade 6-10 fishing nodes are being removed. My ass is at isles of umbra until I hit late 40's now!
Yeah, that just made me think "fuck, now I have to take advantage of this shit before it's straight up removed"
Question: Has there been any mention at all about the stupendousness that is fighting a r1 mob at r20 and missing 2 out of 3 swings?
(I really wish they'd adopt the Rift way of doing accuracy/hit and make it only matter at level cap!)
new part 3 q&a about gathering classes has been posted if anyone wants to "look into it"
So you want them to spend time fixing accuracy against things that don't matter and can't possibly kill you? Things that get oneshotted on the aforementioned 3rd swing?
Seriously, why does it even matter if sometimes you miss a lowbie mob twice or sometimes you don't evade their attacks? It's a meaningless fight.
Lol, I kinda doubt Yoshida would delay the letter like this. He seems like he could talk shit every day.
But whoever is making that vid... is slacking!
Yeah, actually I do. Because of the shitty way the system scales. Missing even ranked mobs is just as annoying, and happens just as often. As a CNJ or THM20 I miss r30 leve mobs LESS than I miss lv.20 normal mobs. Does that not seem ass-backwards to you? As someone who prefers solo content, yeah it really does dig at my enjoyment of the game when my abilities are resisted every other time. I shouldn't have to stock up on accuracy gear at r20 just to have fun killing stuff -- it's hard enough to enjoy grinding mobs as it is without it taking twice as long because of all the misses.
Just read the 3rd part of the Q and A and dear lord the questions are getting more retarded.
Although I completely agree with some of the smaller issues that people are talking about seeing a fix for in this thread, I think people have their expectations set way too low (which, who can blame anyone for that when dealing with SE).
Not only should there have been much more progress since the release date last year, the expectations of the playerbase shouldnt have had to fall so far. The updates and patches added to Final Fantasy XIV could have and should have been much larger, and much more game-changing. Everyone is talking about all the things Yoshi-P is doing for this game, I personally have been intrigued by the things he "says", but when it comes down to it, this game still fucking sucks.
I spent so many years in XI, and in that game you could lose yourself in the wide plethora of events to do. And even back during JP release/early stages of NA release, there was a limited amount of things to do. But you could still lose yourself in either EXP, exploring, farming, crafting, etc. Some of which FFXIV tried to emulate and fails miserably even after all this time after release. People complain about namis, hnms, and all the stuff that milked time out of the player, but those are the events that hooked the playerbase, and will continue to do so and I am curious as to why they strayed so far away from it and released the pile of garbage that is XIV.
And lastly, with SE (supposedly) going to be releasing a 3rd MMO, solely to create cashflow... if you are making games solely to make money and arent worried about gameplay experience, then you are going to fail. All the games recently in the FF series seem to have been focused more on commercialism, and lack that magic that Squaresoft could bring into your console/pc. It saddens me but I, along with many others, see XIV never going anywhere, and if things keep going the way they are going, SE is going to say goodbye as well. Here is to hoping that my slightly anger-induced opinion, and that of so many others can be proved wrong.
